After a loss of 80 lbs, ( and 24" around my waist) I met with Dr Haddad to get rid of my loose skin. I had initially wanted a 360 body lift or fleur-de-lys tummy tuck.
At 183 lbs, I had a no-drain tummy tuck on September 24, 2018. 2.3lb of skin and fat were removed. Surgery took around 1hr 40 minutes
When I was unwrapped, 2 days later, I was shocked by the inflammation on my stomach and mons pubis. I was very upset to see that my old belly button was still there, above my scar.
When I got home, I weighed myself, 199 lbs! I had horrible, stretching, painful inflammation. The liquid was not draining, but accumulating above the scar.
I called the clinique and saw Dr Haddad many times. He told me that it was because of weight loss, or it was fat. In October 2017, he told me that I did not need a revision.
Finally, in May 2019, my revision was performed. He removed an encapsulated seroma. Unfortunately, Dr Haddad did not remove my old belly button scar.
**Never get a no-drain tummy tuck after losing a large amount of weight.
**I would have brought in a swimsuit to show my doc- my scars are very apparent with my swimsuits as he put the scars so low.
**Always go with your gut. I knew I needed a fleur-de-lys to achieve the results I wanted, or have the scar like a smile ( this would have tightened the skin over my ribs)
Am planning on revising my scar to lift up over hips, with another doc.

Seroma- Hard mass above scar
Giving2022December 6, 2019
For 7 months, after my initial no-drain tummy tuck with Dr Haddad, I lived with a hard bump between my belly button and my scar. My surgeon told me that it was due to weight loss, which fostered a bit of an insecurity to lose continue on my weight loss journey. Fearing the bump would worsen, I couldn't lose any more weight. I searched for a long time to find out myself what this bump was and if it was dangerous as my surgeon twice refused my requests for sonograms.
I would like to help anyone out there with concerns that aren't being answered by their medical team. A seroma is not dangerous, but I did pay to have aesthetic surgery and assumed there would be a certain level of standards.
In the end my surgeon revised the 'bump' at a cost. Which was not loose skin and fat.", but a seroma, I feel, due to the fact that the sutures made during my tummy drain tummy tuck were too tight to let the liquid drain naturally. + with my 85+lb weight loss made me more susceptible to fluid retention.
