I joined realself about 8 years ago when I underwent abdominal liposuction and breast implants. I went to the best cosmetic surgeon in our area for these procedures. I was not happy with the outcome as he put in implants that were much larger than I requested so I had them removed a month later. The lipo was okay but a bit uneven. This experience made me afraid of doing anymore surgery.

Now I am 52 and have been spending thousands on Botox and fillers over the years. I am ready to do something permanent. I did my reasech and a lot of soul searching and found a surgeon I feel will do the best job for me. Having said that, next Mondat 12/14, I am undergoing upper and lower bletherplasty along with a temporal and mid facelift.

I am terrified but I really want this. I went back to work 4 years ago after spending 16 years as a stay at home Mom. I am doing well but want to give my career every edge I can. I have posted a before picture below.

You already look gorgeous and I bet you will have wonderful results from your facelift. Your doc has great bone structure to work with! Good on you for taking the plunge - I know what you mean: I am also a working women of a certain age - and we are definitely judged on our appearance, fairly or unfairly! Wishing you lots of luck, minimal swelling, and a speedy recovery :)

Thank Cewells and Nesha. My doc said no one would know I had surgery after two weeks with make up on. He said after three days I would be wanting to work from home which is an option for me. I know it takes several months to see the full results. I am very scared.

You are so pretty now. You have nothing to be afraid of. You can only get prettier.
Remain calm once it's over you will recover real quick. Of course theirs a little pain, but
be sure to get and fill medicine ahead of time. Pack the refrigerator full. Get Zip Lock bags and make them up. Ice on 15 minutes off 15 minutes. And wear a button shirt for
getting dressed so you don't have to pull over head. You'll do great. I'm pretty but your
prettier and going to be even better. Best of Luck, it's just what we need to do at our age. I could not live with wrinkles and now we never have to. God Bless You.

You are your own best critic. the doctor would not operate if he did not think he could
improve your looks. You are a champ. You will do wonderful. I am excited for you. When you awake and see the bandages, it is a little threatening, but as you inspect your
nice young face, you will be so happy you did it. I say Bravo to you for courage and for the Doctor for knowing just what you need to be yourself except young again. Best of Luck and it will all be over and the past soon.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Can't wait to see your results.

I had a FL, NL and fat transfer on 11/23. I'm three weeks post tomorrow. The first week of recovery was a little rough, just because my face was so swollen and tight. It is much, much better now but I do still have some swelling. There are days I am so excited at the results I'm seeing and there are other days where I question why I did this. Then I remind myself that I'm only 20 days post. So my point to you is be patient in your recovery. I've read the emotional ups and downs are quite normal. Regardless, you are going to look amazing and will be so happy you had it done. Best of luck to you tomorrow! I can't wait to see your results.

When will I feel better. I am at day 2 night and I feel like I am trapped inside a painful swollen head!
December 16, 2015
It's only been 2 days what are you looking for miracles. I am the fastest healer in the world and it took one week to walk around and two weeks I covered up bruising with
cliniques continuous coverage. completely covers any bruising. Please give it a chance. You, I promised, will be so pretty. But not in 2 days. Just give it 5 more days, your not trapped, you have a computer, TV, music, Videos and you can write me. Put the ice packs on your eyes and say patience, patience. If not call the Doctor and get 10 Xanax and you'll rest and get through it. Sometimes we all need a little help. Your all bruised, sure you feel lousy, but it's over and each day a tiny bit better, then one day you'll smile and say alright, I can see the light. This is unreal. I'd do it again. RIght now, it's only two days, I've got lost on the road longer than two days. You hang in there you are not going to even know me when you get beautiful. You will mend and be so very pretty. Close your eyes now and sleep and let God heal you. But gee give it at least a week to breath. Bye Christmas you will see the light and you will be able to use makeup on the sores and wear sunglasses. It's too soon to even go for a car ride. Now, I told you it's
going to be tuff, but it will get better soon. 10 more days and on Christmas day you will begin to get a glimpse of the new you. Your just down because of the swelling and uncomfortable feeling. And you probably are used to getting up quick after procedures. Call the doctor and get something to stop the anxiety.
I am a nurse practitioner, and that's what you need to get a breath of fresh air.
The pharmacy will deliver for free. Now, do what so you think?

Wow that is some impressive shiners. Don't worry, you will look fabulous really soon. I had a temporal lift and mini lift, but had my upper lids done last year. Not too much swelling and I love my higher cheeks. You will too!
