Unfortunate Experience

$10,800

My nose had been broken many years ago and I had nosebleeds for years afterwards. I was told I had a badly deviated septum and I wasn't happy with the appearance.

I found an ENT/facial plastic surgeon who I thought was reputable. I told Dr. Becker my history and he was very dismissive and told me my septum was not deviated and insurance would not cover any of it.

After my surgery the Dr. informed me I had the worst deviated septum he had ever seen. I was charged 10,800 for the rhinoplasty. I feel cheated out of possibly a few thousand dollars because my insurance was not involved. I specifically sought this surgeon because his website advertised that they work with insurance for medically covered procedures and he specializes in deviated septums. He rushed me through my 1 week post op and I was in and out in 10 minutes. I called and asked to speak to the practice manager about whether something could be filed after the fact. They blew me off and didn't return my call. I requested my patient records first on 11/19 and at my last 3 visits and they have told me that they will email them to me and will not do so. He also confused me with another patient, and ripped the gauze packing from my nose in the parking lot of his practice after my procedure. On Monday I went in for a 1 month post op and decided to get botox as we had discussed previously. Dr. Becker told me I would receive 20 units which would have been $240. When I went to check out I was charged $504 for 36 units. He did not inform me during the procedure or when he stood there during my check out to let me know I needed additional units. I find that unacceptable, unprofessional and I no longer trust this doctor at all.

Wow, so many issues here! Did he do the scope up your nose at the consult? That's crazy that he said your septum wasn't deviated, then said you had a terrible deviated septum after surgery. He should have known. I would be irrate about that.

He did use the scope during my consult and said it was not deviated. I think a more experienced surgeon would have had the skillset and patience to be more supportive and reassuring of someone undergoing that procedure. It's 5 months post op and I still have a bump in my bridge. I don't know if it is residual swelling or permanent at this point. There was also zero accountability or acknowledgement that there were aspects that were just not ok or ideal. He was more concerned that I had left a negative review than managing the care of his patient. And the dysport I received for the first time instead of botox wore off in 2 months. That's not normal especially for a first time. It must have been old. What should have been a happy, uplifting and cathartic experience was turned into an upsetting, demoralizing and unsatisfactory experience overall. Maybe this was a one off for this surgeon but it doesn't make it ok and I didn't deserve the treatment or lacktherof I received.

I’m so taken back over your whole situation. And it really makes me reconsider going with Dr. Becker. He responded that you were refunded. Is this the truth? So sorry you went through that. Geese! What a nightmare…

No. I was refunded for the dysport injectable I received on my second follow up. That was a separate charge. He told me I needed 20 units and when I checked out it was 36 units, almost double with no communication. That was the tipping point for me. All the best

Suture Left Behind in My Face (non-dissolvable)

Fabulous405814
This surgeon left behind non-dissolvable prolene suture in my face. Had to be removed before it caused a scar or became infected. This procedure was done to improve an old scar. Suture removal was 12/16 and I noticed the stitch shortly after.

Unfortunate Experience Continues

I posted previously regarding my experience with this surgeon and his office and it requires an update. Triangle Facial Plastic Surgery is now harassing me by sending me bills and telling me they have not received funds from my credit card company. I have ABSOLUTELY paid my balance in full months ago. I even had my credit card company call their half wit "practice manager" and explain to her that I have been billed for their services and they have received those funds. I had to defend the fact that I've paid them causing me further anxiety and stress. I implore anyone looking at Dr. Becker and his office to look elsewhere - there are plenty of far more experienced doctors in this area and I made a serious mistake in choosing him as a surgeon
