WORTH IT$5,000
Ok first off i just got this done as of this writing so ill hold off on worth it or not til at least a month or two out.
I loved Dr Sinas bedside manner. He spent a lot of time with me and answered every question i had. Initially was a bit nervous to go with him because, as he only recently started at Dr Pearlman's office, he didn't have many B&A photos to show. However he trained with Dr Talei who perfected the modified lift lip, which, while has more swelling, provides more natural results and better healing. The week before my first consult i had gone to another more expensive provider with a very large portfolio so I actually put a deposit toward him. But he had such an incompetent, unresponsive front staff that i cancelled (and saved $3500!) and booked with doctor Sina.
Today was my operation. It took a little longer than expected (abt 2 hrs). I opted for local anesthesia but was pretty much asleep most of the time.
He and his other staff answer any remaining questions i had. He indicated that went perfectly. And i was off home!
Prescribed hydrocodone for pain, an antibiotic and an ointment. Ive also been using arnica tablets. Currently in need eating icecream. Ice definitely helps. I can talk fine but the staff indicated the swelling would be worse tomorrow.
Will post more updates as days progress.

Day 3 - bruising and swelling
N7ilce12o60January 23, 2019
Swelling seriously set in on the morning of day 2. Just look at the difference between my immediate day-of and now! Bruising happened later in the afternoon. It's gone down a bit since. I've been applying ice and eating arnica tablets like cereal. I haven't really needed the pain meds which is good because they make me nauseated.
I'm getting my first set of stitches out Friday-- but its difficult for me to even clean the area because I'm so swollen.
I can actually talk ok which is good -- ive been working from home and taking phone meetings.
Just a little tired during the day.

Thank you for answering - was also wondering if the muscle was cut or if modified simply meant the center portion was lifted and not the outsides. However, since you have stitches along the outside of each nostril I would assume the entire upper lip portions, outsides and center were lifted. Outside of the excessive swelling, it looks like the results are going to be very very nice. Can't wait to see your pics in a couple of months. I'm told it takes about 6 mo to see the full effect. Mine hasn't noticeably changed since about month 3. I'm at month 4 now. Mine was so worth it!!!

Do you think you swelled up more because you had a revision. I’m having a lip lift in a few days and worried about the swelling!

After icing all day
N7ilce12o60January 24, 2019
After icing all day Some of the bruising and facial swelling has gone down by bedtime.
I've been sleeping with my head raised. I probably need more sleep tbh.
Stitches coming out in 2 days. Worried that the swelling will make that difficult.

Did they cut the muscle or just skin/ligaments?

How exactly is a modified lip lift different from just a lip lift? I had a lip lift in Sept 2018 along with a dermal graft (my own tissue) tunneled through the upper lip and also the lower lip. I am very happy with the results but didn't seem to have as much swelling as your pic shows. I had one very small bruise! I took arnica just prior to and post op and of course iced every 20".

Something about cutting underneath the skin kind up under the flesh, i think. Rather than just removing the area and sewing it up. It's a 1.5hr procedure.
I also just swell easily. When i had my rhino i was puffy and black for a month.

The modified LL which isn't as common has more swelling than standard, and i tend to swell a lot as it is.
Now, people are surprised to hear i had surgery. No one seems to notice. I'm going to post a close up next update.
