I have started the process for a breast reduction...

WORTH IT
I have started the process for a breast reduction and I couldn't be more anxious and excited. Since high school this is something that I have wanted so bad but never had the time to start. I was flat chested up until 8th grade, and literally never stopped growing since then. Ive always hated that my boobs were always the topic of conversation, I even had a nickname because of my boobs. I started my documentation summer of 2017, June. I really want insurance to cover my surgery so I did lots of research and have been working hard to get documentation! I went to my primary doctor and spoke of my back and neck pain, as well as asking if it relates to my frequent headaches. That summer I also started seeing a chiropractor. This is something that I did not continue more that 6 visits, cause 1. I hate the sound of my back cracking, 2. left in more pain than I came, and 3. lets be honest that copay twice a week was killing my pockets! I also got more documentation that summer with my primary doctor. After a short hiatus for a couple months, I started physical therapy in November! This provided a slight relief, but my boobs were still there, so I literally plateaued in progress, even my PT agreed, and I ended treatment Monday February 5th (for now). On February 2nd I had my first plastic surgery consultation. I went there with my short chiropractor documentation of my pain and back, physical therapist documentation and recommendation, and my primary doctor recommendation and documentation. My plastic surgeon also said I was a great candidate for the surgery which I literally wanted to cry about. He said I am definitely over a DDD which I wouldn't even know because Ive been squeezing into small bras for years (bras are expensive especially since my boobs are so big :( . While I was there they submitted all my documentation, pictures, and paper work so right now its the waiting game! Its been only 5 days but I feel like I've been waiting weeks. Just cannot wait to have this weight off my shoulders, literally. Will definitely update on here my progress and the process!

Hi guys, I was super anxious ever since my plastic surgeon submitted my paperwork over to my insurance company on February 2nd. So today I was sitting around and decided to call my insurance company and see if they had any information yet. AND THEY SAID IVE BEEN APPROVED!!!! I'm so happy and so anxious I literally cant take it. I was expecting it to take about a month and I'm so happy it didnt take that long. I'll give my doctor about another day or two to call me before I let him know I already got word. I can't wait to schedule this, I honestly have never been more happy :).

BOOKED FOR MY SURGERY !!!!
taylort9922February 15, 2018
So I finally got my call back from my plastics surgeons office about my approval! I really wanted March 2nd since its the start of my spring break, but that date wasn’t available. ITS OKAY THOUGH BECAUSE I GOT MARCH 7th!!! Thats the Wednesday of my spring break so it still works! Question, I have class the 12th, do you guys think i’ll be okay for that? I know i’ll be in pain but is that over ambitious? I’m so excited, haven’t felt this happy in a loong time! There isn’t a pre-op appointment either, is that okay? I have so many questions, i dont know where to start! I am, unfortunately, the type of person who needs so much information before everything. I have done all my research but i need more. Ugh i’ll put any other questions i think of here, hopefully someone sees them!

I am three weeks out and my doc says to still take it easy. I could not go to work now. Some hi through it easier, and you are young so you should be stronger. Also I had over 5 pounds taken off, which my doc says is huge and a major cause of more discomfort. If you must go back to class...try not to carry heavy books and stuff...get your friends to help. Good luck...I will send out positive vibes and prayers for you❤️

Thank you so much! I'm hoping I can take that first day back to class off, as my bags are always heavy but will definitely be keeping it light. Prayers to you as well for a great recovery!

I was told to take it very easy (not carry anything more than 10 lbs, try to keep my arms at my side, lay/sit down when possible) for 4 weeks. I also had 5lbs removed like the other comment. I'm now 5 weeks out and return to work next week, but I have a fairly active job.

Thank you so much, will definitely do that just so that I don't push myself too hard. Good luck going back to work!
