After consulting with 5 plastic surgeons for facelift/necklift and investigating Kybella and Thermi RF, I decided on coolsculpting to remove residual fat from a 2011 liposuction of the neck/jowls. The doctor's assistant will be applying 2 coolsculpting neck applicators to the area. I am excited to see the results over the next couple months.

Thank you ! I am a work in progress. I first used Botox at 50 and I am glad I waited to go with fillers, too. I am really excited to see the changes at the 3 week mark! I will post pictures with coming weekend to see what is happening with the neck, if anything this early.

Some of the claims made by Laser manufacturers and doctors/ technicians about the extent that lasers can make significant improvements are often optimistic. No matter how much you may wish to avoid more invasive surgical treatment, it may sometimes be preferable to save money from Laser to pay towards more intensive approach. However, every individual needs to make the cost/ benefit analysis. Moreover, people react differently to laser treatments. The best advice is to find a plastic surgeon who is honest and truthful and not just a money grabber who will provide objective advice. The benefit of laser is that later you can always decide to have more invasive treatment. Sometimes it is better to spend money on laser treatments first to see the results before embarking on surgery. At the moment from the photos, I would be inclined to agree with your husband.

Today is Day 2. I will post updates once a week to monitor my progress-results can be seen as early as 3 week and continue for 4-6 months. Dr. Kovak's office called to see how I was feeling today. The staff is extremely attentive and patient centered. Everyone from the doctor to the office staff is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. Today, I feel some tenderness, mild bruising, hardness in the treatment areas, slight redness down the neck and a bit of itchiness. All I was told are normal reactions to coolsculpting. So far, so good.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I had my chin/neck coolsculpting done yesterday and I'm sore and a little swollen today, no bruising (yet). I have had some success with Traumeel cream in the past (no longer available in North America though) with decreasing inflammation and I have added Bromelain to my supplements to help as well. I have been told there is nothing I can do that will influence the results so I will stay hydrated to help with the flushing out of fat and wait patiently...
If my post results even look like your pre I would be happy! I am rather chinless and my neck now seems to fall from my chin ; ) I will start a review soon as there isn't a lot of reviews on cool sculpting mini yet. Cheers!

Best of luck. Do keep me posted. I really feel like the area is tighter, but a neck lift will be in my future. Just have to save the $$$ to do it. :)

Wow I think you look really good so far- the swelling isn't super noticeable.  How is the pain?  Are you experiencing any nerve "zings"?

User Avatar

No nerve "zings," but the area is quite numb and really tender to the touch.
February 21, 2016

I'm glad to hear no zings- please post a review update at some point to let us know how the rest of your healing goes :)
