40 Years Old 4 Kids 5'9" 124 Lbs. Implant Exchange from Saline to Silicone Under Local - Newport Beach, CA

Hey ladies! Wanted to share with you my experience seeing that there are very few reviews about implant exchange under local(awake while having the procedure done) My journey started 12 years ago. I got my first set of saline implants which were 450 ccs round under the muscle. My Dr. Was Thomas Toohey from Newport Beach, Ca who is the most amazing, competent Dr!!! I loved the result and breast fed my daughter for 2 years with no issues!! My induction was under the crease. My scar was thin flat and beautiful! GlSh forward to 12 years later. I got into great shape, work out everyday but during the last few years I noticed rippling that I never had and my breasts seemed to be falling more into my armpit. I went back to my p.s and he explained that her could exchange my implants under local if I just wanted to exchange the implant. If I wanted a lift, pocket revision etc... I would have to go under. Well after much consideration , I decided that my breasts were in decent shape and that simply putting in a bigger implant and changing to silicone would be give me the result I desired. It also saved me a considerable amount of money and easier recovery. I went from a 450 round saline implant to a mentor round ultra high profile 650 under the muscle. The procedure was a breeze! I would do it again in a heartbeat. I hate going under so this was a perfect alternative for me. I took one Valium an hour to relax. I arrived at the office at 2 pm. My dr. Numbed the bottom of my breasts and I waited for about 15 min. Then it was go time. I experienced VERY minimum pain. It was more like a pressure feeling. The only discomfort I felt was when the new implant was inserted ( I could feel a little muscle pain) but it was completely bearable!!! It was so easy and relaxing and I didn't have that horrible recovery of coming out of anasthesia feeling. It's now day two. Basically have a little pain in the incision area... I was given Percocet which I did take but probably Motrin would have been just fine. So far I'm beyond thrilled with the results. No more rippling and very happy with size. Was concerned that 650 was gonna be too big but I'm a tall girl so it was just fine! I'm so glad I listed to my dr on the size. I see a nice difference but it's not drastic so if you are on the fence, don't be afraid to go a little bigger! The only negative is that I wish I could have achieved a tad bit more cleavage, but overall, I'm beyond thrilled!!!! The other advantage is that because I used my pocket, I don't have to wait for the drop . I'm sure they will change a little bit and I will keep u posted, but so far so good! Don't be afraid to go local !!!! I would do it again in a heartbeat ! It was sooooo much easier than my first augmentation and I love the result.
