Neck Lift Review at Linley Clinic - Melbourne, AU

Unfortunately sometimes things don't entirely work...

WORTH IT
Unfortunately sometimes things don't entirely work out first time; and my neck lift didn't. As the post op swelling subsided I felt disappointed with the result, confused about the cause and concerned that maybe I held unrealistic expectations, so I contacted Tracey who enabled me to visit Mr Webster within the week. I felt relieved by his immediate appreciation of my concern and I was booked in for a review. Now, two days after surgery I am relaxing, analgesia-free in our sunny study thinking about how to express my thanks for the care I have again received at Linley Clinic...... It starts at the front door with a warm welcome devoid of clinical cues but with the familiarity of long term staff and their cheerful camaraderie. It is where one feels relaxed because the nurses are relaxed, where on feels safe because clinical checks are conducted without interruption and where one feels the respect that comes with attention to detail and individualisation of needs. I had a quiet room in which to recover; whenever I needed assistance a nurse arrived immediately ready to help and good old fashioned nursing in the form of a hot chocolate drink was all I needed to help me sleep. The following morning the anaesthetist checked that I was pain free. Howard removed the bandaging and checked his surgery, to which he had kindly added a fat transfer from my tummy to glabella as I didn't want the opportunity cost associated with long term use of trade name stuff to remove a wrinkle. A nurse then helped me in the bathroom, shampooed my hair, cleaned my surgical sites and gave me a homecare pack including some helpful tips to my husband. Linley is holistic care and I was accompanied to the front door feeling as well as when I had arrived and knowing that it was 24 hours very well spent.

Neck Lift Review at Linley Clinic

I am absolutely delighted with this result. I have also been sleeping well and feel fine. At four days post my bruising is increasing by the hour, particularly downward from my ears where it looks like shear stress.....I am thinking that a short swap of the support collar for a scarf in 30 degree heat to a restaurant tonight will look pretty bizarre.....I have already forfeited my music group lunch today.....c'est la vivre.....luckily I have an interesting book.....

Looking great already. Take it easy and let your body recover.

Thank you for your interest and helpful advice. I haven't tried arnica but I am wearing my support collar, resting and using ice to alleviate the swelling; especially as we are going a BBQ tonight. I've had a dress rehearsal for disguising the bruising with generously applied moisturiser, concealer, foundation and a summer weight scarf.......think it will be OK.......but not a late night. Thanks again,

Are you using arnica for the brusing. It comes in creams, tablets and spray. I swear it zapped my bruising in no time!

Face Lift Review at Linley Clinic

Maybe I'll start a Bruise Competition.....can anyone beat the bruising I had day 4 post? If asked whether I would do it again, absolutely I would. Day 5 is how I went to a BBQ Saturday night.....we hadn't seen these people for a year and I know one of the girls spotted my mildly swollen face immediately but was too diplomatic to ask me among the crowd.....maybe I'll phone her...... Day 8 is today, the morning I received a phone call offering me the job I interviewed for yesterday morning......writing this with my feet up between icing and icing.....

I think you look great! Question: Did Dr. Webster do the first neck lift that you weren't pleased with? :)

Thank you for your kind comment. I am now delighted with my result....and I can be pedantic. Now, how to cut a long story short ????? Yes, Mr. Webster did the first neck lift with which I wasn't pleased but I feel I should explain the following. During my pre-op consultations I was preoccupied with seeking answers to questions that would help me understand why I had experienced such uncharacteristically distressing misery in front of a mirror. Consequently, I expressed less concern with my physical expectations from the surgery and in retrospect I could have been far more verbally specific about these. My neck lift was performed with a facelift, upper and lower blepharoplasties and fat transfer to my cheeks; all of which have been successful and I especially love my eyes! My need for the more extensive neck lift with its longer hairline incisions was unfortunate but its benefits has far outweighed this cost. I hope this helps with any decisions you may be considering and I wish you all the best.
