I'm a mother of three who totally needs a mommy makeover, I really have issues with my mid area as far as my abdomen, sides, and back. I went on a consultation today and I met with Dr. Breitbart, he is a really made feel comfortable, really nice!!, well anyway he recommended that I do the tummy tuck because of my lower abdomen. He told me that I can do the smart Lipo, but it wouldn't be as flat as a tummy tuck. He also mentioned that with the help of the laser, it will tighten the skin a little. He also mention with diet & exercise that will also help... I'm sitting here having all sort of mix feelings, should I just do the tummy tuck ?? I'm just worried abt the down time with 3 young children, & the scar... Help!!!

I would suggest to get the laser as well, That would help with your back and love handles. Did your doc give you the option of a skin excision instead of tummy tuck ? Luck with whatever is your decision ;)

it depends on how much skin & if you have stretch marks. I got a tt and took away stretch marks and it flat scar doesn't really bother me. So if your going to put the $$ out I would go for it all. Ask if you can get a pain pump for after .

I have very little skin, and my stertch and marks are in the lower part of my abdomen, but what say makes so much sense, I will see.. Thanks for your advice.

I also had a consult with Dr. Breitbart and he told me the same exact thing. He said smart lipo wouldnt give me the results that a Tummy Tuck would but I opted not to do a tummy tuck because to me, that is one helluva surgery to do electively. I dont need a hip to hip scare and major time down and all that pain in the name of vanity. Im all for other women that do it and I agree the results are great but its not for me.

Wow... Thank goodness for you... We are in the same exact situation, I want to have another consultation with him and ask him abt the traditional Lipo, I'm just wondering if it would be more effective than the smart lipo... I will let you know what he tells me.

If you don't have saggy crappy skin in your tummy area and whatever stretch marks you have (if any) you can live with I say liposuction for sure. It shouldn't matter which kind of lipo as long as its aggressive and the person doing it is an expert and uses the smallest cannula so as not to cause any indentations that might occure. IMO a TT scar is hideous!!!! And no matter how great the job is "and I have seen some fantastic after pictures on here" the positiveness of the work performed is taken away by the huge ugly scar. I sorry to say but a persons eyes go right to the scar. Even some mini TT scars look longer than the Dr says it would be. Anyway with three kids to see after I know you don't want to waste time and money to do a TT in case the lipo doesn't do what you hoped it would but to me I'd rather make that mistake than getting a huge ugly scar than a so so liposuction result. I hope that one day science can make more strides at improving the appearance of these scars. I know people who's TT scar is thin and flat but its still visible and its the visibility that detures me from getting it so I totally get it :-)

Your advice means a lot to me, especially knowing that my scars heals different from most. So I can def say a TT is not for me....thanks a lot

I'm scheduled for the same doctor. How come some people can see results right afterwards? U don't see any changes at all? Makes me nervous since it's a lot of money spent :(
March 23, 2015
I guess everyone is different, and I do have a lot of swelling, and I am seeing a slight difference today, so I guess I have to be patient
