WORTH IT
I have wanted to do this forever...I am 5'8" 38DDD..going to a full C. I was so scared at consultation I could barely form intelligent question. Still pretty nervous about the whole thing but have heard nothing but great outcomes about by surgeon! Any helpful hints from someone who's been there will be appreciated! !!!

You are going to do well, just breath and focus on the end results.  A few more days and you will be done and home recovering.  Do you have everything set up for your first week of recovery?

the pain for myself is actually tolerable and is nothing like what some people have posted.. I guess it's all how you take pain.. just make sure to take your pain meds and you should be fine! just do not lift your arms up or reach! I am just very sore around my arm pits like a bruising feeling. today is my 3rd day home and I have showered twice and it feels lovely!

I am pretty good at the pain...everyone keeps telling me I better change purses beforehand because it's huge and my friend said that was her hardest thing! Lol! I think mine is going to not sleeping on my sides!

I am one month post and very happy! You will do great. There is a lot of information on here and I hope you have found some useful information. Here's my short list
1. You will need someone to stay with you for 2 to 3 days... Minimum 36 hours.
2. I had drains, so no shower till removed, so wipes helped... Bathroom, facial and antibacterial ... Dry shampoo for hair.
3. Sleeping is a mixed bag... I used a recliner, my couch and my bed with lots and lots of pillows... Now at one month I can sleep on my side. I covered everything in sheets and had pillows on each... I moved a lot at night starting night 2. I like to bury my head in pillows and like the feel of sheets on my body.
4. I cleared my calendar for two weeks so I wouldn't be stressed out...I just got bored!
5. My Dr. Had me buy camis to wear initially. Going bra less when I left home was a trip! Now I wear front closing sport bras... Ask what he wants you to do.
6. I used extra strength Tylenol and skipped the harder drugs. It worked. I now use occasionally but really not really needed...
7. I bought dial antibacterial soap. My dr has me wash my incisions twice a day with soap and a wash cloth. I was suppose to start on day two but I was too afraid to touch them. So, I had a slow start, but once I started I saw great results.
8. Stock you cupboards and freezer with healthy food. Apple and oranges last for weeks in the refrig. I went to my favorite yogurt store and got several small size treats and put them in the freezer. I stocked up on lots of water. I placed meat in individual portions and placed cooking instructions on each... In case I have a brain freeze or someone else makes them... I froze ingredients for my smoothies... Yum!
9. Cash...
10. Treat yourself... New nightgown, nail appointment, or pedicure? Hair cut/ style..... During week two I did it all... I made me feel alive.... But be advised I needed a nap after each outing during week two...

I hoped this helped. At one month I am still healing, but very happy I did it. Take good care of yourself! I can't wait to see the before and the after pics!

I'm scheduled for same surgery in one week and I'm getting a bit freaked, over thinking everything. Your post have helped. Congratulations on your outcome. Wish me luck.

Oh I was freaked out then excited then back to freaking out!! It's more than a little scary but if I can answer any questions feel free to ask!!! I'll do my best to help!! What size are you now and where are you hoping to go to?

I'm big and I probably have never had the correct bra. 42E. I want to be a full C. Reading everything on this page has helped so much on what to expect. It does sound like it takes longer to recover than anticipated. Im taking 3 weeks off. I was told that the axillary lips does have more pain than the breast reduction and lift itself. Thanks for all of your information.

Oh the lipo is way worse!!! That is really the only thing that still bothers me much. 3 weeks off work (depending what kind of work you do) should be ok...I know my dr told me I could go back in a week and that didn't happen...well I did go back but couldn't do it! Also told me I could drive in 1 week and that was really hard and I am trying to limit that still...you have to listen to your body not your dr because not everyone recovers the same way...I feel like I am having slow recovery after reading some of these other ladies stories! But am enjoying the new boobies for sure!!

I did mine 100% for the pain I was in, you idiot. some people actually get it done for that reason. and my bf loves mine now way better than before. not all guys want a fat, saggy girl just sayin. it is way better to be healthy and live a healthy lifestyle. get off of this website, you're nasty.

I SURVIVED!!!!!
I had to be there at 8:45 this AM with surgery at 10. Everything went as scheduled and I was home on my couch by 2:30. I am feeling pretty ok...dr. had to do more lipo than originally thought on the sides so he said I would DEFINATELY be more sore!!! My sternum is kinda sore as well but dr said that is to be expected also. My one nipple is bleeding thou bra but again, that's ok. I actually thought I'd feel worse than I do.
Dr. johns nurse Mary was amazing!
I will add my before and after pictures this weekend, but cannot believe how different I feel even this soon!!!
