WORTH IT
I've been researching Facelift/mini lift for years now. I've been wanting to 'refresh' my face for so long and after a long few years and feeling like life has 'taken it's toll' on my face, I decided to go ahead and do something for ME! :-)
I did go to a few surgeons in and around the Toronto area. I also visited Dr. Brace in Guelph, ON.
I decided to go ahead with Dr. Brace. Why? He does 'vertical' lifts and not just horizontal lifts. Other surgeons wanted to 'pull back" whereas Dr. Brace wanted to pull up. I've been following procedures on here for many years and this felt like what I wanted.
I really liked his 'demeanour' and his knowledge. I felt safe and comfortable. I also really liked his new facility and the fact that it was not in Toronto.
On top of the lower facelift, I'm also adding on an upper Bleph and lower eye CO2 laser. My upper eyelids have definitely felt heavier the last few years and I figure if I'm going under the knife, I might as well take care of as many things as I can.
I spoke to one of Dr. Brace's former clients who had a full facelift and she told me she's never been happier. Her before and after images were just mind blowing so I'm really looking forward to looking 'refreshed'.
I'm hoping to document this journey so others can get a sense of what I'm getting done and also of Dr. Brace's work.

Heading in tomorrow for my procedure. Added a few more images so I can keep track. Gosh when I look at these images I can really see how 'lax' my skin has become! ugh.
Here are images day before my surgery tomorrow. I'll try to update as much as possible so people can see Dr. Brace's work as well as real recovery.
I've been taking Arnica and Bromelain for the past probably 6-7 days. Stopped all vitamins on the weekend as I was doing Vitamin C and multi-vitamins prior to.

Day 1,2,3

Helgaromero
Day 1 - Right after surgery. I was definitely nauseous. Big time. They gave me some gravol and that helped and thank goodness I had some at home as I took gravol all night. I didn't want to throw up. Slept most of night one.
Day 2 - removal of the football helmut. lol I got to see the new jaw line which looks really great but my face is SO swollen so I can't wait to see what it looks like after the swelling goes down. Again I spent most of the day relaxing and watching netflix.
Day 3 - Eyes are getting pussy - yuck. Trying to just keep them clean and moisturized. Still swollen. Not worse than yesterday thought and I expected today to be worse.

Some takeaways:
1) It's VERY hard to eat. I'm so glad I picked up kefir and yogurt and chewing is too hard.
2) Sleep/recovery is very important.
3) I'm taking pain meds only at night if I need them to sleep. I took 1 tylenol yesterday during the day.
4) It's definitely not a pretty sight. Especially the eyes. They look so swollen so be prepared.
5) lots of numbness around the ears which is very weird.
