Surgery over!

Surgery Soon!

WORTH IT$10,000
I am 60 years old and I have been looking for a surgeon for almost 3 years. Dr. Perez in Ft Lauderdale FL was the first surgeon I have seen that did not almost insist I have fat transfers. Yes I would like more fullness in my face but I have not seen much success with the fat. Too much money to throw away on the hope it might work. Expensive, painful fillers are not an option for me. Too big a ninny and they will fade. Perez said the things I wanted to hear and I will be in a surgery center with heavy IV sedation which was also important to me. I wanted to schedule the surgery much earlier but I was afraid of scheduling during hurricane season. Good thing because I live in New Bern NC. If I had scheduled any earlier I would have lost my deposit and my surgery date. Nervous but very excited and ready!

Im not having a chemical peel but I did have CO 2 laser 20 years ago and scarred. The pain was severe and lasted for 2 days. Smelled awful too! I have heard they have improved but I personally will never do that again. Dr. Perez does not do them. Im having a smas facelift and neck lift only.
Will you be posting photos? I will be watching for your posts. You must be excited your surgery is coming up soon also

Pretty amazing. I feel as good as one can feel about someone taking a scalpel to your face. I have met a few that I went heck no! Dr. Perez talked with me about 45 minutes and I felt we were in agreement in how things should be.

are you having neck done too or just lower face? What is the cost and what procedures are you having done?

I had a full SMAS lift with upper and lower bleph, fat transfer to upper lip. Total cost $7700.00 for surgery and 1900 for Casa Marino spa for a week post starting tomorrow.

I looked at Costa Rica but by the time I flew there, paid for a caretaker, and a place to stay it would actually cost me more. My sister lives near Ft. Lauderdale so I can just stay there. I could get it done in NC where I live but to get near the same price I would have to do it under a local. THAT wasn't going to work for me!

I’m thrilled with the after care. Now at Casa Marino in SAN Miguel. Can’t comment much on results but my daughter said my cheeks look higher!

and that is with being put under fully? I wonder what his cost is with just local...10k is just a little bit out of my price range. I can't wait to see your pics and hear about all of it - so I might just have to continue saving :)

Surgery is done!

Surgery went very smooth. I really liked my pre-op nurse. She was very patient with my IV phobia and gave me lidocaine so I never felt the IV.

Pain was tolerable when I woke but had something for pain in my IV which took care of my discomfort. I was intubated so the pressure of the wrap under my chin is putting pressure on the tube so far is the worse part. I can see my face is swollen so can't wait for the swelling to go down so I can see how I look

Haha. I think I was just really drugged and swollen and looking directly at the camera. I tend to shy away from photos and look down or away which makes my eyes look funny.

I had full facelift / necklift. He does not think I should ever have a forehead lift because my brows already sit up over my brow bone. I'm am swollen in the post surgery photo so my forehead is smooth. I had wrap removed today and no bruising. My neck looks 100 percent better. Photos tomorrow. So far I am pleased.

I'm doing really well. No bruising and stitches dissolve so tubes were pulled and now I just have to wait it out. I'm totally surprised that so far I have found things so easy. Leaving tomorrow for North Carolina. Can't drive because I can't really turn my neck much stitches pull. Because bleeding was cauterized to inhibit bruising I can't do anything for a month. That is going to be my biggest challenge. I still can't get over the improvement. I have my original face shape back!

OMG what an incredible result... you look amazing.. I am having mine done in March and I have to admit I am really nervous... were you before hand?

Thank you! So far I'm really pleased. I'm holding off on reviewing the doctor until I have more time to heal. My stitches have to dissolve. So far they are all still intact which is very annoying...but worth it. My neck was really bad and I have a little vertical pull down from the stitches near the back of my neck. Hoping once the stitches are gone it will not pull. I was told it will soften. I am still really happy though. Was I nervous? Not really. The doctor was recommended to me and it seems there is no guarantee anyway. When I spoke to him I just knew he was right for me. I was just really ready and had to choose someone. A mediocre neck/face lift would have been better for me than none and I was ready to take that chance. I always have said I don't mind the wrinkles but the heck with the hanging skin! Heck no! My face shape is back and I can't wait to be able to take this compression off and go out in public.
Where are you going for your surgery? Just make sure you feel comfortable with your surgeon. I will be posting more photos as my stitches dissolve and I will be watching for your posts.
