I aged quite a lot in the last four years, and no longer could look at my photos without saying "What the Hell happened?" So in Dec 2014, I talked with my Dr., telling her I needed a facelift. She gave me the name and phone # of Dr. Manuel A. Lopez. My consultation was in early January and Dr. Lopez and his staff made me feel very comfortable, and did an excellent job of focusing on my goals. I wanted to have a natural look, not overdone. They offer a full array of options, which I studied for weeks before my pre-op appt. Real Self was a big help to me, as I poured over the experiences of others and came to the conclusion to have a necklift/facelift with fat transfer, and my upper eyelids done, and I am so happy with the result. I had my surgery 5 weeks ago and it went smoothly, without complications. I followed every diet/healing advice given to me to promote healing and minimize bruising. The surgery was done at a Surgery Center, I saw my Dr. The next day to have the wrap removed, the next day, the Dr. Saw me again, and checked things out, then I was sent to a salon to have my hair washed. Don't misunderstand, the first 5 days were rough...took every pill prescribed. I am a tummy sleeper and sleeping in a recliner chair for weeks was quite an adjustment. Had my stitches out except for the "anchors" on the 8th day. Dr. Lopez said I was healing nicely, even tho I did swell up more on my left side than my right. I looked a little lopsided. I had little trouble with my eyes...just used Refresh drops. Fortunately no eyelid issues. My husband was a champ through all this and regularly put the bacitracin on my incisions. I can't imagine going through this alone, as some have done, on this site. My scars are healing nicely and cannot be seen...incisions are behind my ears in the hairline and under my chin. Although I still have some swelling and I have tightness in my neck still, it improves every week. Saw Dr. Lopez today and he is very pleased with his work...me too. No more waddle under my neck, and I look so much better. I stayed away from folks for about 4 weeks, and then I relaxed when no one asked me if I had anything done...they just said, "hey, you look great."

Oops, wasn't ready to post that...was trying to change no to now. Still have some tightness in the neck and slight swelling and tenderness in my temples. I love my results, especially to have my neck waddle gone.

I was told if I would avoid sleeping on face/tummy it would help - lots of stress and stretching put on facial and neck muscles at night when face sleeping. Just trying to make my results last longer. Good luck

Now at 3 months post FL....still have tightness around my ears and some swelling. Have been dieting, so have lost 15 lbs. People remark, "hey, you look great, and I tell them I am losing weight."

Tightness means the results will last longer. For me dieting always comes off my face (and breasts) first - never where I think I need it. But you look terrific! I would say like your 25 year younger sister. Be happy!
