Biggest Disappointment of my Life

Surgery was a disaster from beginning to end. Will have to have it redone. I arrived early morning in darkness and left in darkness after 7 hr surgery. Should have been 3-4 hrs.
Then had to return for bleeding and stitches to be redone as soon as we arrived home. Neck looks as bad as it did before and loose skin under chin. Jowls are still there, ledge of loose skin above jowls. 1 inch hard line under skin that is red on skin.Still have numbness and pain on one side of face and ear.He replied very sharp and intimidating to me when I voiced my concerns.He does not have the skill to be doing facelifts.

When did you have the surgery and what was his reply to your concerns? This surgery has quite clearly been an absolute fail, a surgeon would have to be blind NOT to acknowledge that and to have the audacity to be sharp with you ... So sorry for you, you must be devastated and whatever he has done seems to have had zero effect.

It has been over a year.
His reply was it can take up to a year to heal. His associate spoke up to soften his words when he became angry. I knew when the swelling went away it was bad.
Not one person has said you look better, younger, or what a great job he did.
I have pictures that show the real extent of what he left me with.
I am devastated. Thank you for your kind words.

Im sooo sorry this happened to you! There MUST be some recourse legal and financial, but first you have to get another doctors' opinion on this botched surgery.
This doc shouldn't be practicing medicine!!

Given that it's already been a year , I would seek legal counsel immediately because it's clearly a fail and doesn't need "more healing time" and of course because of the statute of limitations. I dont know what that is in the US but I would imagine you would need to act as soon as possible. If you don't have the energy, I don't want to pressure you of course, but maybe it would be worth it to seek legal advice from a no win no fee law firm that specialises in medical malpractice cases. You didn't post any before photos, so it's difficult to see what your starting point was, but unless you just had a little bit of loose skin I found in my research that even plastic surgeons with decades of experience seem to agree that necklifts can be tricky and require a lot of skill (i.e. experience). Your surgeon states that he has 8 years of experience which in the greater scheme of things seems to be very little experience, especially if your neck anatomy was such that it required special skills. Either way he clearly wasn't up to the task!

Oh my word I am so sorry. This is devastating for you. Was this supposed to be a lower and neck? Was supposed supposed to be a deep plane? What in the world did he do to you? It was a deep plane facelift and neck. After surgery I actually felt a snap and pain. I told him I felt like something came undone. Told me not to worry about it they tack down in more than one place. No recourse and I would not want him to touch me again.

I'm thinking you have recourse because you said "I felt a snap and pain and I told him I felt like something came undone". Since you heard the snap, and felt the pain and thought that something came undone these things would be considered medical malpractice. I think you should contact an attorney that specializes in medical malpractice. You've spent a lot of money on this, but beyond that your emotional suffering has no price on it. We get a Facelift to feel better about ourselves. How have you managed to carry-on for the last year looking like this? You definitely don't want him touching you again. Come on our group, there's so many of us that have had such great results with using "faces only " plastic surgeons, single and double board-certified. I am sure we can help you to come up with an excellent revision surgeon for you. If anything you need to sue the doctor to get your money back so you have the money for the revision. Have you asked them for your money back? I would send them a certified letter requesting it. How he thinks that you should be happy and walk around like this is beyond me. I also don't know how he could possibly ever believe that you would have him touch you again even if he offered to do the revision and even wave the anesthesia and surgical suite fee. More pictures of all the loose skin after surgery. I am very self conscious about how this looks. Neck is still tender. I know these areas did not look this bad before. I need to find someone near Charlotte NC to do a revision.

He is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon with the heart of an angel. I’ve seen dozens facelifts here on RS and he does beautiful work. Of course, you’d have to ask him what he could do for you, but since you’re just a hop skip and a jump away I thought I’d suggest him. He did my FL 3 years ago and I’ve been very happy. Also, I think he prices very reasonably.

Sorry, I see your neck, its not right. Did you asked if he can give you some money back since your are not happy with the results? Did you check how many facelifts he performed prior to your surgery?.
