Please Read Before Booking Surgery with Dr. Maleki
Please read before booking surgery with Dr. Maleki.
In February 2025, I had a fat transfer to my under-eyes and a skin pinch procedure with Dr. Maleki. I had previously had fillers with decent results, but mild, recurring swelling led me to seek a more permanent solution. After a consultation, I understood a fat transfer wouldn’t be a 100% fix and I moved forward with realistic expectations.
Within five days post-op after the swelling went down, it was clear something was wrong. My under-eyes were still hollow, with noticeable asymmetry—an indent under on one eye and a swollen, overfilled look under the other. I was embarrassed for months after my surgery to go out like this however I was trusting the process and I was trusting Dr Maleki at the time. I brought up my concerns multiple times with Dr. Maleki and his team. Despite my concerns, I was continually told everything looked fine and that there had been “improvement.”
At my four-month follow-up, I expressed that I was unhappy with the results and asked about corrective options. Rather than listening, Dr. Maleki was defensive, claimed no mistakes were made, and quoted me $5,000 for a second fat transfer—on top of the $15,000 I had already paid. When I told him my concerns with the price given how my results look, his exact words to me were, “I don’t care that you paid 15k,” and “I don’t do surgeries for free.” I was shocked at how quickly the conversation turned dismissive. I wasn’t asking for a free procedure—only a reasonable correction based on what was clearly not the outcome we had discussed. When I brought up my concerns in February to his nurse, I was told me that it would be a small fee to correct the issue. Even more baffling, he suggested adding filler to correct the issue, despite knowing filler complications were the reason I sought surgery in the first place.
The lack of accountability, compassion, and professionalism was astounding. For months after my surgery I had people asking me what happened to my under eyes. I was counting down the days for this appointment to finally get a solution. I left that appointment feeling disrespected and deeply disappointed—not only in the results, but in how I was treated.
His nurse called me back the day after to offer a discount on the surgery. At this point, even if he offered the surgery for free I would never go back into that clinic. Considering the disrespect and the lack of attention to what I was trying to explain to him, I wouldn’t expect him to know how to fix what he did to my under eyes.
Bottom line: my experience with Dr. Maleki was distressing, both physically and emotionally. The photos and my story speak for themselves. Please do your research, and don’t be fooled by curated social media results. This was my real experience.
