The Most Traumatic Experience at The Toronto Eyelid Surgery - Botched Job and Overcharged Me Cause I Was Coming from Dubai
I was actually really excited to get my lower transconjunctival blepharoplasty with fat transfer done with DR. Maleki. I flew all the way down from Dubai to get it done as it was pending for two years. First ill start with the pricing , I was charged 13 thousand Canadian dollars for just Lower transconjunctival surgery with fat transfer...which I realise that is the price for both upper and lower lid blepharoplasty ( a complex situation) All my problem was is that I had bags and little bit of Maler edema that was due to fillers, which he dissolved a week earlier. Then as we approached the surgery day they had asked me if I can post stories for them and I said I won't be ok with that. Nevertheless, he posted a story of mine as soon as I completed the surgery (while in the surgery chair). The nurses and everyone else were very accommodating as they helped me to my car. Everything seemed fine. Cut to a week and half later (messages and pictures saved) I noticed two bumps underneath my left eye , which was an overfill of the fat he injected. ( I did an Xray on my eyes back in Dubai with an established oculoplastic Dr. He said my eye has been overfilled with fat and is causing the puffiness. My eyes were even squinty and sometimes couldnt see really from one eye when I was laying down...cause there was too much fat injected. My eye looked even worse then what I started with, it was so bumpy with two huge lumps.
I asked the Dr. if he can fix it while I'm there. I changed my ticket about three times to make sure I can be there so he can fix it. Basically he needed to do another operation but instead he said he was going on vacation and didn't have time. I had to plead with him. Then he said to come and said he will inject a steroid to see if the bump can go down. So we did that, I waited for a few days and that definitely didn't work. He still wouldn't fix it and said he was going on vacation, then made me come in again . This time they used the morpheaus 8 machine to see if they can dissolve the two huge bumps. This was the worst day, there was so much trauma to my left eye, I was left almost blind in one eye , my eye flipped and couldnt even see. No one was there to even escort me out while I was blind except for one sweet nurse telling me that everything was going to be ok.The Dr, didn't care he was in and out of the rooms, and was very intimidating to even speak to.It was the most horrible experienced I have ever faced. He still wouldn't operate on me again and blamed me that I missed one follow up appointment and began to blame me and say cause I have a complex case thats why all these problems. I took another opinion from the oculoplastic here who did my X-ray and explained the whole situation and said that I had a normal procedure being done. After blaming me and gaslighting me saying it was my fault and saying that I was rude to his staff (which I wasn't) he told me to wait and if he was going to fix it I would have to pay again for the procedure which was a botched job after paying more then I should have. Make it Make sense, I couldn't believe what I was going through , no empathy on his behalf of what I just went through. 6 months of a botched job underneath my left eye, and said I would have to wait and find someone else or come back to Canada again for him to see him again and he didn't even give me a time frame of how long it would take to fix and how long I should stay in Toronto ( he was so vague) Mind you, I also work and have jobs and missed out on 6 months of work where I'm from cause of the huge bumps underneath my eye. I would never actually post any kind of reviews, but I just couldnt actually believe what I was going through and how I flew all the way to Toronto to get treated by a doctor who I thought was great, and turned out to be the worst experience in my life. I finally got my eye treated from a well renowned doctor in Dubai. Alll he did was take the fat out , a job that was only an hour...which the Dr Maleki could have done . However he gave me too many excuses and gaslighted me the whole time.
He responded and is still gaslighting me cause I missed a follow up appointment that it was my fault that he injected too much fat in my eye, instead of fixing my eye while I was in Canada. Even after everything , realising I was so naive...he overcharged me for my procedure and still has not addressed the situation.
