7 weeks-ish post op

About 7 weeks post op now and feeling good! Still tight, but I'm back to running 2 miles and starting to gently stretch out the front. I can do a little bit of ab work, but not pushing too much. Lots of butt and legs... now feeling i need to work on my arms a lot more to match my belly- this is a great discovery :)
No pics this week because i feel like i don't look much different than the last time i posted. I am still swelling just above my incision, but I'm expecting that to be my only issue for a few months. As it goes down, i can see that what i thought i had leftover fat in my love handles is really just swelling. Woohoo!
Saw doc on Tuesday and no concerns. Next appt is in August for after pictures.

5 weeks post

Working at full capacity now, moving people's arms and legs around and guarding people from falling down (I'm a physical therapist assistant) with a little strain at times, but not bad at all.
I still have a bruised feeling on my flanks and back which seems worse sometimes than others (like today, but maybe because i pushed myself a little harder on the elliptical at lunch).
Elliptical workout yesterday and today- 3 miles in 35 minutes at level 1 yesterday, and 2 miles in 19 minutes at level 1 today. I'm anxious to get back to my old routine, but definitely not feeling ready to bounce like running, plyo stuff or stretch too much. I'm also wary of lifting weights or anything else that requires an emphasis on abdominal bracing... I'll wait until i get the go ahead from my doc which will hopefully be at my follow up in a couple weeks.
No longer feeling the pulling in my abs after walking long distances, unless i walk quickly. Or elliptical too quickly like today. Sometimes it pulls more when i am short of breath. Now averaging 9,000-10,000 steps which was my average prior to surgery.
Still swelling, but it isn't as uncomfortable anymore.
I'm impressed with my scar too, but there is a small spot on the end of my scar on my right hip that is a little bubbly. It's slowly disappearing with time.

At 4 weeks post-op. Ear plug in the belly button.

Not much of a change from last week except continued small improvements with swelling. Trying to walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes at a time at a fairly slow pace, about 2-2.5 mph, then I'll lay down to let the swelling move out during my lunch break. The swelling feels like it gets lower toward my incision and further from my belly button as time goes on.
I started shaping my belly button with a foam ear plug this past week, but i think i like the way it looked better last week!! Pics included to compare.
