27 yo 5’6 150 lbs 36 G, no children, contemplating surgery for years
27 yo contemplating surgery on and off for years. Went from C to G cup.
I’ve been on this website for a few years now. I’ve considered breast reduction surgery on and off for most of my late teen through young adult life. Last year, I decided to get into the gym, with a personal trainer, as an alternative to surgery. I still experienced pain and my breasts aren’t going anywhere..... so I went in for a consultation last October. My insurance (Avmed) wouldn’t cover the surgery (breast reduction and lift) due to me working for a small company. This year I’m going ahead with plans because I feel like these huge breasts are impairing my overall functioning. I can’t exercise to the extent I want to as well as I have constant back, shoulder and neck pain. I weigh 150 lbs yet I look much bigger because of these huge breasts. Even if I went down to 120 lbs I would still have large breasts for my size since it runs in my family. I prefer myself healthy and toned at the 140-155 weight range than being super skinny and still look like I’m toppling over with a large chest for my size. That’s my personal preference for my body and I know I eat healthy and exercise so losing weight isn’t an alternative for me. Breast reduction it is then! Come along on my journey!
Last follow up before surgery
Today I met with Dr. Perry. He took photos of my breasts and went more in depth about the procedure and I was reminded by staff that my labs and appointments all need to be completed by a certain date before surgery. I will complete my labs tomorrow morning before work. I also learned I should stop my birth control pills. That makes me slightly anxious since I’m on them to help with my hormonal acne and severe periods. I start my period this weekend so I will just wait until next month’s period ending to start a new pack of pills. Dr. Perry also wrote the prescription for my medication. It’s a good idea to get them before the procedure. I don’t like taking pain meds but better safe than sorry. He said some people only take pain pills the first day or two. I also learned I will have in drains and I was reminded of the type of incision- lollipop. For some reason I thought it was an anchor type, which creates scarring underarm the breasts and to the sides, which I was slightly concerned about. So I’m glad to be reminded that the scarring will be around the nipple and straight down the underside of the breasts, which makes it easier to conceal. The surgery will be at his office but in a back building in the parking lot. I like this better than if i went the insurance route and would have to go to Jackson. It will be easier for my caregiver to transport me from Miramar/ Pines to my apartment in North Lauderdale than navigating the confusing golden glades exchange area. All in all I’m excited. I just need to finish my scheduled labs, mammogram, EKG and primary Dr apt between tomorrow and mid next week. Also, wrap up everything at work because I’m taking off two weeks to recover. Plenty of people said they went back to work sooner but I don’t want to take any chances with the type of job I have.
I added some more photos of me in my $80 Wacoal bras. If you look closely the green bra’s lace is ripping because of the weight of my breasts ???? I can’t wait to be a D/ full C. I prefer a D but I don’t have kids yet and I know they may grow some due to that possibility. Also, nothing is 100% precise.

Today I picked up the prescriptions at Walgreens and the surgical soap. I was contemplating Hibiclens but I ended up getting the Walgreens’ version of the soap. I also completed my labs. Tomorrow I have my Mammogram. Additionally, I ordered several items from Amazon, which will be delivered this weekend. I bought a pregnancy pillow, gel ice pack, more front close/ surgical bras, a bed/ desk table etc. I’ve also recently bought some more zip up hoodies and new sports bras from Walmart and JC Penny’s (on sale). I’ve watched countless YouTube videos about breast reduction surgery and they recommend most of these items.
