In 2009 I had breast implant surgery with a different, well-known plastic surgeon on Long Island, and left with symmetrical, Full-C size breasts.

In 2022 I had surgery with Dr. Stephen Greenberg for removal of capsular contracture, implant exchange, Strattice insertion and a breast lift. Dr. G. said he would try to do all procedures at the same time, but may have to delay the breast lift until my body healed for a few months. He delayed the breast lift and four months later I had the breast lift surgery. (additional $1500 "Facility" fee ((whose FACILITY IS IT, DR. GREENBERG?)), and additional fee for the Anesthesiologist.



After the first surgery, I saw marked asymmetry with my breasts and spent an hour expressing my desire to Dr. G. that the asymmetry be corrected when I had the breast lift performed in four months. After the breast lift, I was left with a SIZE C LEFT BREAST and a SIZE B RIGHT BREAST WITH A CONCAVE APPEARANCE! Also, the left breast hangs MUCH LOWER than the right. Dr. G. said that I had formed capsular contracture in that short period. I paid $2,500 for "Strattice," a material inserted to help guard against repeated capsular contracture. What was the $2,500 Strattice for???!!!



I requested a refund for SERVICES RENDERED UNACCEPTABLE as follows:

$9,500 - Breast Augmentation--left with one size C and one size B, concaved breast hanging higher!

$2,500 - Strattice--Capsular contraction formed shortly after surgery!



If Dr. G. had integrity, he would have graciously issued a refund for unacceptable, incorrect and shady services. I spent a total of $17,500 for DEFORMED-LOOKING BREASTS! DISGRACEFUL!



Dr. G. offered to perform a 3rd surgery (with $1500 facility fee and Anesthesiologist fee) and said that additional capsular contracture could occur AGAIN after the 3rd surgery. Why would I subject myself to a 3rd surgery when he didn't get it right the first or second time?! I already have scars from the breast lift, and don't want to "go under the knife AGAIN!"

No remedy from Dr. Greenberg

After my post "Deformed," I received no contact from Dr. Greenberg's office. I did, however, receive a comment from one of his clients who had the exact same issue as me! How can he get away with this??

So sorry to hear that you are going through all this. It's emotionally taxing & disappointing. Have you considered filing a formal complaint with the medical board?

Yes, I have filed a complaint with the NYSDOH Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Dr. Greenberg's office responded to my Google review and asked that I call the office. Well, on August 14, 2023 I did, and was told that "Dr. Greenberg wants the best for you." Since then I AM GETTING THE RUNAROUND! I was told that Dr. Greenberg, Donna, Mindy, and Ava would discuss and call me back "in a day or two." I received NO CALL BACK. After leaving messages on August 21 and August 24, I finally reached AVA on August 25th and she said she would have an "update" on Tues., August 29th When I called on August 29th, she said that she did not have an update, but assured me that "someone" would call me back later that day. NO ONE CALLED ME. On August 30 Ava told me that Donna is out all week and will be back Tuesday, and that Donna had to review the case. She said "it seems you want a refund BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THE OUTCOME!" Well, that's darn right! Who would be happy with one Size C and one Size B breast with the C hanging lower, and a concave indent on the B breast!!! Dr. Greenberg charged me $17,500 for two different size breasts with one hanging lower and the other indented! I am furious!!!
