Breast Fat Graft with Dr Rastogi on 4 September 2020

After YEARS of wanting a breast augmentation I’ve finally taken the plunge and booked surgery.
ABOUT ME
I’m 163cm, 66kg, size 10 and muscular but I have a layer of fat over the top that is impossible to budge without starving myself.
My small boobs probably wouldn’t bug me so much if they were proportional to the rest of my body. I’ve had a lot of friends and boyfriends hint that I would look better with bigger boobs - some not so subtly!
I’m currently an A cup and looking to go to a modest natural looking C cup. I work in a male dominated industry so can’t turn up to work with huge boobs without getting unwanted attention. My main goals are for them to look great but natural, fill out my shirts and feel soft.
I’m now 37 and was advised 10 years ago to wait to have kids before getting my boobs done but it’s looking unlikely to happen.
I liked the idea of not doing an implant because I wasn’t sure how I’d feel with a foreign object in me, and although I’m super healthy and unlikely to develop it, I have a few friends and relatives report symptoms of breast implant illness.
SURGEON SELECTION - DR RASTOGI
I was debating whether to go with a hybrid fat graft/implant with Dr Tavakoli or a full fat graft with Dr Rastogi.
Both surgeons have been lovely and very professional but in the end, I’ve chosen to go with Dr Rastogi.
Dr Rastogi was referred to me by my cosmetic injector who had a breast augmentation with him this year, and my previous surgeon who performed my hairline lowering. Great referrals!
I like that Dr Rastogi will do a full fat transfer, without an implant, and made suggestions on other ways I can improve my shape. I also love that he’s so passionate about achieving a natural look. While I adore Dr Tavakoli’s work on Instagram and he has a great bedside manner, his patients seem to choose an overly round porn-star look that I don’t want.
During the consultation, Dr Rastogi listened to me describe my problem areas and goals. He then made other suggestions to improve my shape.
THE RECOMMENDED PROCEDURES
For best results, we’re going to do two rounds of liposculpture and fat grafting to my breasts.
FIRST ROUND - taking fat from my inner thighs, stomach, arms and “banana pocket” on the back of my thighs. As Dr Rastogi said, if I don’t go back for a second round, at least this first round will give me bigger boobs and shape my body better to highlight my small waist and round booty.
Around 3hrs in surgery. Costs:
• $300 consult fee
• $500 booking fee
• $15,580 Dr Rastogi fee
• $170 compression garment
• $4,500 hospital fee
• $400 mammogram
• $165 ultrasound
• ~ $100 medications
So about $22,000 total for Round 1, without post op massages (see below).
It’s so expensive because of the liposculpture to multiple areas. About 50-70% of fat should survive and that should take me to a large B cup.
SECOND ROUND - depending on how much fat takes to my breasts, I’ll go back in between 3-6 months to have another round of liposculpture and fat grafting. This time taking fat from my hips, outer thighs and knees. Around 2.5hrs in surgery and ~ $16,000 with fat transfer to my breasts, or 1.5hrs and ~$10,000 for just the liposcultpure.
If I want bigger, Dr Rastogi has to go in while the blood supply to my fat graft is thriving. That’s why the second round is so soon after the first.
PRE-OP
I had to get a mammogram and ultrasound done on my breasts and a blood test done for HIV, AIDS, Hep B/C.
I’ll start taking Arnica tablets two weeks before and an antibiotic the night before.
I’m trying to eat super healthy and keep hydrated before surgery - no alcohol, lots of salmon and green vegetables, no soft drink, lots of water, lots of exercise, lots of moisturising.
POST-OP
I’ll have a drain put into my stomach post-lipo and can’t sit for 10 days, can only stand or lie down. This is to make sure the stomach lipo is as smooth as possible. No one wants to look like Tara Reid!
I also have to wear a compression garment for 10 days with very strict instructions to make sure it’s fitting properly and not to touch my boobs haha!
Then I will have lymphatic draining and scar tissue massages two-three times a week for 4 weeks starting 3 days post-op. Each massage is $150 for an hour.
Recovery is expected to be 6-8 weeks in total. Depending on how everything goes, I should be able to start weight training again after 2 weeks, and higher impact exercise after 6 weeks. I should be back to boxing by
8 weeks.
Both Dr Rastogi and the remedial masseur have stressed that my boobs will be like “ripe peaches” for the first 6 weeks and cannot be touched or jiggled, but encourage exercise to help with the lipo recovery. Lots of long walks for me then!
I’m having to put my dog into boarding while I’m recovering so that’s another $500 on top. I’m going to miss my little dude!
Unfortunately my family live interstate and can’t get to Sydney, and I’m very much single, so I’m relying on my friends for support. Such an awesome group of girls that I’m so lucky to have.
OVERALL
While I’m excited to have the body I’ve always wanted, I’m also terrified. Full fat grafting is relatively new and doesn’t have the same predictable results as an implant.
My biggest fear is spending $22k on lipo and new boobs only for the results to look rubbish. I’m scared that I’ll end up with lumpy, saggy skin from lipo (hello Tara Reid again!) or saggy boobs without a lot of upper pole that I really need.
I’m determined to follow the post-op instructions to the letter though, and to take excellent care of myself post-op so I can get great results and keep them.
Fingers crossed that 2020 is the first summer that I feel comfortable at the beach in a bikini!

Rescheduled to 9 Oct 2020

After much anticipation, it didn’t happen. I was at a gym in Sydney during the week of surgery that turned into a COVID hot spot. The surgery was pulled just as they were about to anaesthetise me.
Dr Rastogi had already marked me up for surgery! I’ve included photos so you can see how much work will be done.
I’m rebooked for 9 Oct. I think it was the universe’s way to testing to make sure I really want the surgery to happen.

I've had fat transfer to my breasts May 2019 and I personally think it wasn't worth it. 90% of the transferred fat was reabsorbed in less than 4 months, and went back to B size. The only benefit I had from this procedure was skinnier areas where the fat was transferred from.
I'd suggest a real breast implant if you want longer lasting results.

That’s a concern of mine - that it won’t work. I’m an A cup and only want to go to a B/C so I’m hoping I’ll retain enough. The lipo is probably a bigger motivation for me.
Who did your surgery?

I agree Enirsen. I had a breast FT 3 months ago with no discernible change in shape or size. Like throwing money into the bin. Super hard emotionally too.

Who did your breast fat transfer? I wonder if different techniques help retain fat.
I just don’t want an implant in my body. I sleep on my chest and it will be uncomfortable.

Wow, so sorry that you didn't get to have your BFT after all the anticipation. but it's coming up! I wanted to say that I had it done JUST before the COVID hit and although I've lost fat, but overall, I am pleased. I think results are less about the surgeon and more of how your body works with the fat. Managing expectations is totally important. If you lose 50%, what is the net volume that you will gain? Take a look at the volume in milliliters value, and look at a breast implant to get an idea. If your surgeon puts in 300 ml per boob, then you'll be left only with 150. If you start with some boob already, you will look proportionally like more is added than if you start off flat. I think you'll do well. You have quite a bit of projection at the bottom- you look like you just need a fill up top a bit. Probably don't look too much at that WISH picture...she looks like if she went from flat (which her bone structure looks kind of like), she would have 8-900 ml implants put in. (I looked at all those little bags of silicone in the doctor's office when I went in for my consults and post-ops)

Surgery completed!

I just got home from my surgery with Dr Rastogi at Waratah Private Hospital.
I have to confess - I may have buggered my results for us but we’ll see. I’m positive that Dr Rastogi has done a tremendous job.
I recently had my heart shattered and lost 3 kgs in the last 2 weeks, almost entirely fat from my stomach but all over. That’s heartbreak diet is too effective! I don’t deal with grief AT ALL WELL so my sister came down from Queensland to take care on my mental health and stayed to help me post-op.
Dr Rastogi was good humoured about the weight loss but also incredibly compassionate about my heartbreak (we joked that this is my revenge body, before we were calling it “art”) and being the magician he is, still managed to remove 3100ccs of fat and put 440ccs into each breast.
We were supposed to lipo my stomach, arms, armpits, inner thighs and banana pouch on the back of the thighs. Dr Rastogi tried to take as much as he could from where he could but the fat in my banana rolls had significantly decreased so he didn’t do them. Instead, he relieved the fibrous attachment that was causing a line (see previous pics) to give me a smoother hamstring.
Thank GOD for 37 years worth of fat on my inner thigh! It saved the day. Dr Rastogi contemplated doing my hips and outer thighs to try to get the fat we needed but we reverted to the original plan of doing two rounds.
My boobs are swollen and firm and I’d say they’re currently a large C. Looking at them, this size looks good on me. I’ll definitely be going back for that second round in February. That’s where he’ll do my hips, outer thighs, knees and banana roll.
I’m under strict instructions to pack on the kilos over Christmas so he has fat to work with in February.
I’m feeling pretty good. I was only passed out in the recovery ward for an hour post surgery and up and walking around within 15-20mins of waking up. I really needed to pee which proved to be a challenge! The muscle relaxant in the anaesthetic meant I couldn’t put pressure on my bladder. I was so proud when I finally managed to pee, I told all the nurses hahaha!
Pain-wise, I’m at a 3. I feel like I’ve done a super hard weights workout. Tomorrow will be worse. The most pain I have is in my lip (I bit it during surgery apparently) and my boobs feel tight and a little burning.
I’ve leaked an obscene amount of fluid. Bloody liquid everywhere. My leather car seats will need professional cleaning. The hospital gave me pad protectors but I forgot to lay them down on the drive home. The drain in my stomach will get a workout over the next few days for sure!
I get the drain removed at my checkup with Dr Rastogi on Monday. I’m also booked for a post-op massage on Monday too.
So far so good, and I cannot rave about how absolutely amazeballs Dr Rastogi and the crew at Waratah Private Hospital. Maybe the
Universe covid cancelled my first attempt at surgery so I could be better supported through my heartbreak and my surgery... Thanks Universe!

I’m praying that my results are smooth. I have every confidence in Dr Rastogi performing flawless work.
The masseur was quite firm about me coming for a series haha!
