Hey! I'm 26, no kids, 135lbs, and 5'2". I've been wanting a breast augmentation for the last 10 years. I believe my left is a AA and my right is an A. I wear a 34A double padded (bombshell) bra at VS but an A in juniors at Walmart...

And not to be a buzzkill, but are you worried about it being delayed given the current situation?

I've waited 10 years so I can wait a bit longer should I have to. As for size, im thinking between 350-380cc

Good luck! Keep us updated. I love seeing progress pics. I'm still on week 3, so it keeps me patient.

You are going to love them. I have had 3 surgeries because of problems. I was going to go smaller and on the day of surgery I opted not to get them back in. I absolutely love them and Dr. Chalekson and the staff are amazing. His wife is beautiful and so helpful. They were al surprised that I opted not to get them. I have no regrets that I had them in the past and had problems but I love my new smaller look. I am physically better as well. You’re in good hands.

About 7.5 weeks pre-op! Renue PS uses Mentor implants. I’ll be getting the MENTOR smooth round implants filled with Saline. I’ll be getting submuscular placement and I believe we spoke about incisions being under the nipple. After trying rice sizers, I think I would really like 375/380cc (my left is smaller so adjust accordingly.) I like the moderate plus profile, but at my pre op I’ll take the PS recs. about how big I can actually go and a good profile for my frame. I since I am gong through insurance, I have to pay half ($1,907) at my pre-op on May 5! I’m so so excited!

What discussions did you have about saline versus silicone? I’ve always seen silicone recommended for someone with very little natural breast tissue because saline looks and feels harder and can cause a lot of rippling. Curious why saline was your choice!

Mostly the safety of saline being able to absorb into the body. And with unknown medical history for my mothers side, I didn't want as much interference with mammograms. I actually got my date moved up to April 6, but I will talk more with my surgeon Monday

How were you able to go through insurance?

My doctor submitted my request to my insurance and they approved it. I had tuberous breasts. So mine was Bilateral Reconstruction with saline implants. I still had to meet my deductible plus 20% of the cost difference. Without insurance my quote was 4500, going through them it was 3814.

Wow I had no idea insurance was a even a remote possibility.

Not all insurance company's will accept the procedure, you can ask the person who handles the billing at the place you're considering. Usually PS consultations are free, but if I wanted it submitted to insurance I had to pay my specialist co-pay. Going through insurance allowed me to pay for half the surgery up front and I didn't have to finance it. Since it goes through the hospital I just pay them directly for the remainder.
