11 days to go. So appreciative of everyone's comments on this site. I have chosen to be positive about the whole explant procedure. Being a worrier by nature it is a daily practice!
First implants 2002 Sub muscular not sure the size. They looked huge on my body. Second set couple years later 325. Still big on me. Fast forward 2015. Got diagnosed with Lymes. Actually suffered a couple years because standard tests were negative. Went to an awesome Naturalpath who diagnosed me. Change my whole world. Eating only organic. Walking every morning. Taking her protocol for Lymes. The gift I received in this diagnosis is a focus on optimum health on all levels. So getting out the implants is part of the journey towards the healthiest self I can be.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should have on hand for the first week of recuperation at home? My son is taking me to surgery however I do live alone.

Who was your doctor? You look a lot like me. Were your implants behind the muscle?

Hi! My Doc was the very talented Dr. Dean Kane . He is also doing the explant. Yes, they were under the muscle.

Hello. Good luck with your journey. Best thing I ever did. I had mine out less than a week ago. My husband came with me and brought me home. He spent the night but then had to go on business trip. He was prepared to cancel if needed but I was absolutely fine pretty much as soonas I came round from anaesthetic. I've had no pain. So took none of prescribed painkillers except first day when I was worried I'd feel something when anaesthetic wore off. I was able to dress easily and do chores around the house. I sleep a little in the day the first couple of days as I felt tired. I had a couple of nights where I struggled to sleep but probably because I had slept in the day. I was even able to wash my hair on day 3. I have my post op visit tomorrow so the great reveal! I have only peeked down compression bra so far and they look ok. I have posted my story if you want to read and will add updates and more photos tomorrow. Happy explanting.

Hello again just realised you are having a lift too so perhaps your recovery will be a little slower but I'm sure you'll be fine. Make sure you have plenty of food in it's important to eat and drink. Wear a good compression bra or whatever your surgeon recommends. Listen to your body if it tells you to slow down then do it. Good luck

Thank you Londontennis! And congratulations to you! Sounds like you're doing great. I'll definitely read your story.Typically I'm a quick healer, I hope that's the case this time also.

Good luck for your op and recovery. I explanted and had a lift on 4th May after 17 years with implants. After I started on a healthier lifestyle, I started to see my implants as totally foreign and unnatural to my body and after being diagnosed with Hashimostos I couldn’t get them out soon enough. It was the best decision ever, no regrets.

Even though I am not on my own, I still got a load of food in for the first week, prepared and froze meals for myself (I was on my own during the day), cleaned the house so I wouldn’t be tempted to do strenuous housework. I got plenty of reading material and films. Above all I listened to my body and rested whenever I needed it. The first week I was not really with it due to the anaesthetic and drugs, the second week I felt much more like myself. Wishing you all the best, I look forward to reading about your journey :) x

Correction...the first implants were 325, the second 250. Don't let the pictures fool you. Both sets were big for my body. Initially I only wanted a lift. I have to say even after 15 years I've never really gotten accustomed to having implants in me. I can't wait to see if I generally feel better with them out. I have symptoms from the lymes that are similar to ones related to implant disease. So curious to see if I feel a difference once they're out.

Good luck. I have Lyme also and am scheduled for an Explant. The symptoms are so similar; and like you, I am curious about the difference after the Explant.

I can't get enough of the site! Have others been like this? I'm so excited to get the silicone bags out of me. I wish surgery was today! Somehow it does me a lot of good to read what other people have gone through with the explant and lift. As the time is getting closer, I'm focused on the health benefits to get them out of me. My gut tells me there's been a physical impact from having them in. It's funny, in the beginning I was so floored by the cost. Now I don't even really care! I'm happily paying it, interest-free for six months. Lol
