I am super confused about how to treat my hyperpigmentation. My skin was flawless a little over a years ago. I do have suffer from Eczema, my dermatologist give me, 0.01 tretinoin gel to help even out darken skin around my mouth area. But the infomation pamphlet and the internet, all say DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE ECZEMA. Huh, what, why? Why is tretinoin gel bad for eczema skin. What is the worse thing that could happen? Why is there so much misinformation out there.
I never had issues with acne! Not even as a teen. An occasional pimple around my period at most. I gave birth to my son >1 year ago (I'm 30) & I've had nothing but horrible acne around my mouth/jawline & under the sideburn areas. I'm currently using Retin-A. My doctor prescribed Aldactone. I took it briefly but stopped after reading it has the potential to cause tumors. I tried doxy for 3 months. I've seen little to no improvement! What else can I try without ill side effects? TIA!
I have been using tretinon 0.05 for 6 weeks every 2nd night and have been extremely flaky. I started every night last week and still flaky especially around my chin and mouth. My cheeks and forehead are feeling good. I have only been using pea size and very light on my chin. Will this eventually go and should I continue. The reason for using was to reduce pores and orange peel look.
Hi! I recently started using Tretinoin. I wasnt aware that waxing while using a retinoids can be harming for the skin. After my first wax after starting retinoids I have abrations around my mouth and chin. Extremely painful and red. Please be kind enough to advice me on how to treat these abrations to minimize scarring and discoloration. And how can can I avoid it in the future. Thank you very much
Chemical burn on tongue maybe? I started using Retin-a and didnt have any redness or flaking, but I woke up one morning and the corners of my mouth are tight and cracked. The worst is that I suspect it migrated into my mouth overnight because for the last four days my tongue has been burning and nothing helps it. Could It be the culprit or part of perfect storm with chronic dry mouth? My tongue isnt patchy or coated so fairly certain it isnt thrush. Ive also had neuropathy for two years and never had a burning tongue.
How do I use Retin A to remove wrinkles and lines? What strength should I buy? I will need it especially around my lips, mouth, neck and eyes. Is Tretinoin cream the same? I have been using this 0.1% for a couple of years but have seen no difference. Maybe I am using it wrong or not frequently enough? Does it also tighten up the saggy skin?
I plan to start a programme of sculptra in two weeks time. Can I use Retin A in conjunction with sculptra. If so should I wait until I see the effects of sculptra before using Retin A? I am 46 years old and have lost some volume from my cheeks and have developed lines between my nose and mouth.
I am a 40 year old east Indian female. I was on birth control pills for about 10 years. I stopped taking them last year, and I lost quite a lot of my hair and lost weight. I have used Retin A regularly for 15 years. I now have smile creases. Will Retin A correct this in time or should I have injection fillers? Is it a good thing to use topical creams for wrinkles regularly?
