Tretinoin - red and flaky around chin? (Photo)

Question

I have been using tretinon 0.05 for 6 weeks every 2nd night and have been extremely flaky. I started every night last week and still flaky especially around my chin and mouth. My cheeks and forehead are feeling good. I have only been using pea size and very light on my chin. Will this eventually go and should I continue. The reason for using was to reduce pores and orange peel look.

You can cut down on the amount your are using the cream to as little as once a week.  You kind of have to experiment with application frequency to find your sweet spot.  If lessening the frequency applied doesn't work you might need to try a different brand. We have had a lot of luck with SkinBetter Science AlphaRet. Another tip when using a retinol is to wait a couple of minutes after washing your face to ensure it is completely dry. A damp face will drive the product deeper into the skin resulting in a greater chance for irritation.
