I had tummy tuck surgery on 12/26/08. I lost a drain 10 days after, then my right side started swelling. My dr. did additional surgery after 1mo to repair my navel and replace the drain. He said I had a seroma, but after surgery, he said it wasn't a seroma. He removed the drains 1mo later. The swelling never got better but extended to the left side and pubic area. I have no pain, just discomfort from pressure. Intercourse is painful. He said he'd do lipo after 6mos, but I'm afraid it won't help... what can I do?
Hello, I am 4 weeks tummy tuck post op. I have noticed significantly more swelling in my lower abdominal area in the past 3-4 days. I am all about a week away from my period. Could this be contributing to the significantly more swelling??? My belly looks so full and rounded!
I am 49, 5 '6, 125, had tummy tuck with light lipo on hips & flanks 4 months ago. I look like I still need a tummy tuck! Please tell me if something looks wrong to you or just maybe a lot of swelling. The puffy stomach & thick body make me wish I never had surgery! No pre-pictures but pre-surgery I had a thin middle with excess skin due to pregnancy (carried pregnancy mainly in the front). Now my entire middle is thick & I look like a man. I waited years to treat myself, now I look worse.
Had my original surgery 10/29/23, was swollen but flat initially. Currently look like in the pictures. Is this a failed Mr or swelling? Do I need more lipo? I'm going in for a revision on Friday and my doctor believes I only need some mr tightening and fixing dog ears and minor revision to belly button. Will MT tightening resolve the bulge or do I also need to ask for lipo?
My drains were removed at 1 week post Tummy Tuck and Flank/Back liposuction. Each drain was drawing about 23-26 cc of fluid daily at that time. At 3 week, 4 days post op, I cannot tell if I have a seroma, or swelling. When foam inserts are placed in the garment to reduce indentation (from zipper and seams) there is a buildup of 'swell' in areas surrounding the foam. The foam itself leaves a significant indentation.
Full abdominoplasty Dec 18. Now 9 weeks post op. By week 4 all initial swelling had calmed down and was flat (see pic). However by week 6 nurse referred me back to surgeon as was concerned my belly was protruding and hard - kept asking if pregnant! He ruled out anything serious, said just lymphatic drainage not draining quickly. Pubic area still like a balloon - is that normal? Now I look pregnant when I remove compression garment. Having weekly massage. Very scared this may be permanent. Help!
-DOB: 10/13/84; -Childhood obesity; -Lost and sustained 150lb weight loss before age 22; -Significant excess skin; -Worked out 5hrs a day/6 days a week from 2005-2022; -Abdominoplasty 01/2023 BEYOND HAPPY with results; -Present day: I experience heavy swelling and puffiness post workouts. If I don't work out at all, I'm skinny AF. Is this normal? Shouldn't swelling have altogether stopped? Why does swelling still happen?
