I have had multiple areas of wound dehiscence. Would a wound vac be better in this case? It feels like theres tunneling under the opened wound and this will continue to open up. Looking back I would have not had this procedure. What else can I do to assist with the healing? My PS keeps saying to the wounds and they will heal but it seems like every week another area opens up.
My belly button looks great and I've been healing nicely (I am a vegan and active) but do not want to stop packing if the belly button will shrink. The issue though is that anything I pack it with, falls out unless I'm strapped in a waist cincher that I NO LONGER wish to wear (boning hurts gives serious thigh pain when sitting). My PS saw pic and said I could stop packing but he was not confident (wavered back and forth). The photo was taken at only 4 weeks post op (today I am 8 weeks post op).
I've been dealing with this seroma for approximately two weeks now. The opening is actually getting larger . I've been instructed to pack it twice daily and I understand that it's going to heal from the inside out. The last several days it has a very foul odor. My concern is this foul odor. Is that part of the seroma and should I be concerned?
I started packing my belly button at 2 weeks post op. Will be 7 weeks tomorrow. At my last appointment (6 week PO) I was packing it with maybe 2 cm gauze, now all of a sudden it seems to be much deeper-approx 4-5 cm. last week the nurse told me I could quit packing it at the end of the week. The wound care nurse in me, knows you can't leave an open area and let the outer opening close (which is now open maybe 0.5 cm-just enough to pack it).
I had a TT three weeks ago. Part of my incision above the pubic area opened. My PS cleaned it up and packed it using gauze and q-tip. How will I know if I put enough in there? Thankfully I can't feel anything, but it totally grosses me out. Thank you.
I had a TT 11 days ago. Should I be removing the packing from my belly button? I did once about 3 days ago and it looked really bad...with lots of black crust. I tried cleaning it but I freaked out. I just re packed it and covered it with a sterile gauze
