I had a tummy tuck 10 days ago. Unfortunately, the wound got a bit infected and it didnt close completely (about 1/4 inch hole, right in the middle of tummy, above the pubic hair). I am asked to use syringe and insert the iodine (100ml) into the hole (under the skin) and to package it by 6 gaze soaked in iodine and to push it into that hole by myself twice a day. Is it normal that patient does this herself at home or it should be done by nurse.
I had a tummy tuck and lipo suction 7 weeks ago, they took out my first drain 3 weeks after surgery but I still have 1 drain in. I am still draining about 75 cc a 24 hr. period. The doctor put in iodine and the draining subsided for the first 2 days, but now I'm back to 75 cc a day. I am freaking out! What am I doing wrong? What can I do to help draining stop?
This is at 22 days post op. The scar was about bruised alot in the beginning I over stretched, I wore my compression garment for the first time today since I know longer have my drain. It just started looking this way is this normal? I feel like I hurt myself, I got my tt out of the country. Please help :( I've been applying iodine since then and last picture is how it looks now, also my belly button looks irritated what can I apply at this point?
I am 12 days post op and I am getting worried that my belly button will have necrosis. I know- follow my PS's instructions... which I am, but now I am home in PA and he is in Miami FL. I was advised to wash with soap and water, use iodine and the hydrofera ready foam- wet the foam roll up and cover, but it just doesn't look like it is getting me anywhere. Please advise if you can. I did put ointment on it, but I think I'm done with that
So I had a fdl tt and my surgeon found a superficial blister on the fdl just below my belly button. He opened it up and it got bigger, now I have a large area of necrosis which is being looked at on a weekly basis and receiving wound care - he says the dead skin will drop off but medical sites suggest that the necrosis will spread, Im really worried. Using bactoban and inadine.
This wound showed up several days after surgery. I've been putting silvadene (sp?) on it, cleaning it with iodine. Last night I put xeroform medicated gauze on it then switched to medicated honey and covered it with a small gauze . I had SX in the Dominican and can't get an answer from my actual surgeon. The wound isn't ozing it doesn't have a smell. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was diagnosed with Graves disease and mild hyperthyroidism 2 years ago. Everything normalized about 9 months ago and I was taken off of medication so I scheduled to have a tummy tuck and liposuction. Just had labs and Endo advised it was back and he recommended surgery or the ablation and I chose the ablation which will happen soon. My procedures aren't scheduled until March 2015. Is it safe to proceed with the surgery?
