I have undergone spinal fusion along with 2 other surgeries on my lumbar spine. In addition, I have some urinary incontinence due to childbirth. Is there a chance that this would be covered by FMLA? I know cosmetic surgeries are not typically covered, but if it's related to an underlying health condition, it may be. Is there a chance it would be covered? Should I be asking my orthopaedic surgeon, my plastic surgeon, or both for a medical certification?
What do I need to ask for in order to have my tummy tuck surgery covered under FMLA? (Not to be confused with disability) This will be completely cosmetic not looking to get paid, just approved for the time off.
I have had two children and have extra skin that I would like removed. I do not have a hernia or a medical necessity for the surgery. My main concern is that my job would not be protected while in recovery. Thanks for any input.
I have been told that I need to have surgery to repair my umbilical hernia due to pain that I've had. I also have diastasis and loose skin from three pregnancies, where the last was quite large. One option is to go to a GS and have a mesh applied to fix the hernia. The other is to see a PS and have an abdomnioplasty. It seems silly to have a mesh applied instead of a tummy tuck, when the tummy tuck would also repair my diastasis. My father also had pain where mesh was used to repair a hernia
I was told I could use all my leave only but I only have a week of leave available. They would not approve leave w/o pay. So that means I would need to return to work in a week. they also need FMLA paperwork from my doctor saying I can return in that timeframe. I have been trying to save my leave but things happen and I also have severe migraines which cause me to miss work a lot. I feel now that I have told them about me wanting the surgery, they will give me a hard time if I try to take off.
I will be having aTT /MR /hernia repair and wanted to know if i qualify for FMLA and also do i have to let them know that im getting a tummy or can i just say that im having abdominal surgery hernia repair.
