My doctor says my tummy tuck surgery will be challenging due to scar tissue from 2 past liposuctions done 20 years ago, that I may not get as smooth or as tight a result. I am 70 years old, no pregnancies, fit, BMI 21. I don't know if I should have muscle tightening. Have not read anything about past lipo presenting problems and would like to understand this better. Am I not a good candidate? Don't PS's deal with this all the time? Pics are w/tummy pulled in & tummy relaxed.
A 70 yo male who will be treated by radiation (photon vs proton) is also considering an abdominoplasty following weight loss. Abdominoplasty would be elective while radiation therapy would not. Should the abdominoplasty not be conducted given planning for radiation? Should one or the other procedure be conducted before the other? Which type of radiation (photon vs proton) would be more conducive to a successful abdominoplasty? Thanks
I'm 67 and weigh about 135. I lost from 165 in 2021 when I found out I had diabetes. I don't need to lose any more weight but my stomach is horrendous, saggy, and I look like a pregnant senior citizen. I also have glaucoma. Can someone tell me if steroids would be necessary if I had a tummy tuck and there were complications? My eye doctor has told me never to use any type of steroids because of my glaucoma, so if steroids are typically used, I would never have the surgery.
I have lost 90 pounds and kept it off since 1985. I will be 68 years old but look 50 years old. In 2010 I had a panniculectomy but after 15 years it has fallen and I have skin rolls and no waist. I thought that the extended tummy tuck would do the job !
My PS says I will need a 1 1/2 vertical incision because there is not enough skin to get past the old BB. He says it will not be connected to horizontal incision but free floating in center of my ab. I 'm afraid this will look unsighly. My only alternative is to float my existing BB which won't address fully the laxity in upper abs. What to do? I am 70, fit 140 lbs, 5'8.
I had a TT 2 years ago and am now 73. Initially, I was thrilled but as time went by not so. I went back to the physician and he suggested having a ultra sound which proved nothing. Because of my age and spinal issues I did tell him I didn't need a rock hard stomach but wanted to be able to wear a fitted dress. I think I'm back to where I started. I eat clean and get moderate exercise. In you opinion what do you think is causing this? And should I have a revision? Thank You!
I had a gastric bypass done at age 49 . I am now 67 and had a tummy tuck done a year ago . I began having bowel incontinence soon after the tummy tuck surgery . I have been tested for pelvic floor muscle weakness and went through therapy with recommended exercises that I do faithfully daily . Sacral nerve stimulation is my next step . Diet high in fiber also recommended . Is this a known side affect of a tummy tuck ?
I am a 68 year old woman. I do have high blood pressure and diabetes which are both controlled. I have had 5 back surgeries in the last two years. I have lost 70lbs and kept it off for four years. I am 5'6 164lbs. I would like to have your advise on this situation.
