I had a septoplasty last July and I found that one side of my nose is still quite hard and there is scar tissue along the inside of the incision line. The nose tip is still fairly hard and looks droopy when I smile. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Even though its been almost a year and a half post op? My doctor said there nothing we can do about it and that it is completely normal even though its a tad uncomfortable. Will this be permanent or is it normal? Thank you:)
After a month of throbbing pain on the left side of my nose with numbness on my left cheek and a feeling of pressure my doctor said it is a nerve in my cheek. Will this go away? Its been 37 days since my surgery. I also have a small visible suture (absorbable) where the incision is an a small area that hurts.
i had a septoplasty to mix my deviated septum two weeks ago, after 10 days , the doctor took the stiches out which were black colored i think but i found some clear plastic strings tied inside the walls of the nose (where the hair grows) is that normal ?? or did he for got to take them out cuz the were not even close to incision area
I just got a septoplasty done 5 days ago and i went to go pull some dry blood near the edge of my left nostril and i may have pulled on a suture. The incision looks reopened on the left cause i can clearly see it open and close as i move my nose.
My healing process seems generally in line with the usual experience. However last night I took a peak into my right nostril and noticed a white circle the size of an eraser butt-end about an inch and a half into my nasal cavity. I understand this is where the incision is usually performed during septoplasty - so I'm not sure if I should have a cause for concern. I did however notice a stitch fell out around the 5-day mark. There is no excessive bleeding.
My nose still hurts and makes me feel really miserable. I was told that by 6 weeks I would feel back to normal. An incision inside my nostril has opened where I was told an incision was made to access my septum and there is a gap which has widened over a few weeks. I have finished 2 courses of antibiotics and Bactroban ointment 2 weeks ago but it still feels very sore and irritated. I like the cosmetic results but to be honest I'd rather give birth again than go through this again.
