Two surgeries by ENT-nasal valve stenosis, concha bullosa surgery, septoplasty with turbinate reduction. Currently, nose seems like a pig nose..more upturned, short, very bulbous & wide. Suggestions??
I have had no issues with my sinuses till about two weeks ago. I've started getting sharp pain on the left side of my face (where the concha bullosa was) where the sinuses are located, as well as some eye swelling. I was given Augmentin by an urgent care center for a sinus infection. However, I am worried that the concha bullosa could be coming back. Is this possible? Thank you!
The type of surgery I had was Septoplasty, Turbinate Reduction and Concha Bulloosa surgery I feel somewhat better but I am still feeling congested. Not a lot of mucus but just a pressure feeling in my sinuses on the sides of my nostrils. I am doing nasal rinses twice a day, and just started back on Flonase and Astelin. Is it normal to still feel congested at times? Seems to get worse with extreme temperature changes such as coming from outdoors into the cold air conditioning.
I've been recommended to have Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate Reduction Surgery to relieve my 10-years-long obstructed breathing. Tried medication treatment to no avail, will this recommendation help me breathe normally again? Also, does the CT Scan attached show signs of Concha Bullosa (right middle turbinate), my ENT didn't mention it at all ? Appreciate any input as my life is so bad with the obstructed breathing I have. Thanks a lot.
I got Septo in Dec 2015 and supposedly the right deviated septum are straightened, the concha bullosa & the turbinates are reduced in size. Nowadyas, I just noticed something that I never noticed before in my nose. During normal inhale/exhale, The sides of my nose (a little above nostrils) literally moves a bit (contract & relax). The nostrils don't close but they shrink a bit on every inhale but this constant move is bugging me. Is this really normal or it is a sign of weaker alar cartilage?
I am 38 yo female and Have major sinus nasal allergies. ENT said I need my tonsils + Adenoids taken out to help with allergies. I had an MRI scan for something not related but I noticed what looks like concha bullosa. When I called and mentioned that I may have this he was not interested in looking at the MRI and said we should just do the Tonsils and Adenoid surgery and not mess with the turbinates. What do you think, can you see anything on the MRI that may be causing this grief? Thank you!
I had a septoplasty in right nostril and left concha bullosa surgery on May 5th '16. I did not have any splints and instead had a nose pack for a 5 days. I had to travel (20 hour flight) for work 3 weeks after my surgery and i still have cold, swelling and tip of my nose still hurts. My nose gets congested every 2-3 days and have diffulty breathing with my nose. I also noticed traces of blood in mucus since last 2 days. Is this normal? How long does it take to cold/flu like symptoms to disappear?
I have attached a view of a ct scan axial view of my cranial bones that shows the following. I have a concha bullosa. Doctor will perform tubirnectomy and septoplasty. I also have a big nose hump. I haven't spoken to my doctor about the specifics of the surgery and it will be a couple weeks before I see him again, so I am wondering if rhinoplasty may be necessary when doing a tubirnectomy and septoplasty at the same time
I recently came to know i have right DNS and left concha bullosa. Want removing the deviated septum make nose weak considering having a bulbous nose. I also think i have left internal valve collapse because when i lay down it feels as if my nose is falling. Attaching ct scan would be great if you can tell whats exactly going on inside my nose. THANK YOU!
