How long post rhinoplasty do I have to wait before I can resume skincare? I'll be avoiding my nose and incisions, just wanting to apply to rest of my face/neck. Main skincare I'm enquiring about includes topical tretinoin (0.05%), vitamin C, glycolic acid/enoxolone exfoliant, other somewhat active anti-ageing ingredients.
I've read literature on rhinoplasty, and it seems the consensus is that large pores and oily skin may compromise results. My skin is quite oily (almost like an oil slick sometimes) and my pores were stretched due to poor skincare in the past. I'm currently on tretinoin, but I could also undergo microneedling and salicylic acid treatment. Should I do this before or after my rhinoplasty or does it not matter?
Hello! Ive been using tretinoin for acne for many years. Im about 10 days post rhinoplasty, when can I go back to using tretinoin directly on the nose? And is it okay (as Im doing now) to use on the other areas of the face not directly on the nose? Also, I used tretinoin pretty much to the day of surgery (I read now that shouldnt be done) and Im seeing a lot of dark discoloration around the tip, is the discoloration a result of the tretinoin? Thank you!
Can glycolic acid, Retin-A or chemical peel reduce the appearance of open rhinoplasty scar? Do you think that if I will use these products on my scar I will cause some damage to this area? I had my rhinoplasty more than a year ago. Is there any surgical solution for my very visible open rhinoplasty scar? (I suffer from breathing problems and I need revision anyway). Thanks in advance
Hello, I'm a 20yr old female and have been using Retin-A 0.1% for a year now. I'm getting a septorhinoplasty and lower eyelid blepharoplasty in about 5 weeks. How long prior to my surgery date should I discontinue Retin-A use? Is 2 weeks prior sufficient? Thank you.
I have deep scars on my cheek areas due to acne. I started using it on my face 3 months ago and now the area around my nose looks like a different shade. Is it ok to use it on and around my nose to make up skin look even? My cream is .1% and I use it every night. Thank you.
