When following rhinoplasty can I resume using tretinoin? 10 days post op.

Hello! I’ve been using tretinoin for acne for many years. I’m about 10 days post rhinoplasty, when can I go back to using tretinoin directly on the nose? And is it okay (as I’m doing now) to use on the other areas of the face not directly on the nose? Also, I used tretinoin pretty much to the day of surgery (I read now that shouldn’t be done) and I’m seeing a lot of dark discoloration around the tip, is the discoloration a result of the tretinoin? Thank you!

Thank you for your question. Each surgeon has their own tried-and-true protocol for their patients after surgery. My best advice in this case would be to talk to your surgeon and ask when you can resume using tretinoin on your nose. As far as the discoloration you’re seeing, again, this is a question for your surgeon, as they are familiar with your specific case - they can examine you and let you know the cause and what to expect through the rest of the healing process.
