Good afternoon. I got a consultation for rhinoplasty. I dont like how my nose turns down and is to thick. Doctor said my skin was too thick to get the results I wanted. Does that sound probable?
I have a slight hump that appeared about 3 months post op on my bridge and I think my tip is still protruding too much from a 45 angle, my surgeon hasn't addressed any of my concerns, and I'm beginning to worry I may need some tweaks, rasping, and I want the red bump on my nose removed. I brought these concerns up in the 1st consult but he refused to remove the tiny red bump, while I was under then tried to charge me more money at my 6 month follow up to have it removed.
From what I've heard thick skinned noses are harder to operate than those thin skinned ones. I was wondering if thick skinned ones have higher possibility of creating callus or other kind of unwanted deformities. Also I'd like to know how to determine if nose is thick skinned, because my thinking depends only on the fact that I have an oily skin on my face and thats it. And how much possible it is for callus to form after rasping down from 1-2 mm of bone on thick skinned nose?
Im planning to have a nose tip reduction. I have medium-thick skin and a wide nose, and I only want work done on my nose tip. During my consultation, the surgeon mentioned he would use a cephalic trim technique for tip refinement. He also explained that due to swelling, my nose might look wide and similar to my old nose until around 7 or 8 months after the surgery. He said it could take that long for the swelling to go down and for the refined look to appear. Is this accurate?
My nose appears to be bulbous and a bit too much projected from the side even though I dont have a hump. Ive been wondering if anything could be done to make it less projected without actually changing the front because that would mess it up and make it more prominent. Plus, my skin appears to be thick, which is tricky. I just want it to be flat, less projected and soft all around. Ill include both my picture and the ones of the nose Id prefer.
I'm sorry to keep reposting, hoping better photos may help! I appreciate all the insight I've received on the prior posts! Hoping this photo is clearer that after a peel and then (accidental) extreme over-exfoliation, the amount of skin on my nasal tip has been reduced (9 months have elapsed) and it still appears buffed. I'm looking to regain the original thickness but know that what occurred was superficial, so it must simply be an external matter? Any solutions are appreciated and thanks again to all the doctors for their previous replies!
Im 22 year old female. I have oily skin. My nose has thick skin. I would appreciate honest suggestions about my nose. I am content with my noses side profile. Its the front view, I would like to see the enhancement in.
I am currently 10 months post-rhinoplasty, and I have quite thick skin. In the first few months, the side of my nose shifted to the left, and I believe the tip also deviated in that direction. During a follow-up appointment, the pictures taken showed that the nose tip looked crooked. Since then, I have been taping it to the right. I will attach some pictures for reference. What could be causing this issue, and how can it be fixed? Does my nose look better on the recent pictures?
Thank you @Dr. Ronald J Edelson for always answering my questions! I was hoping I could get lots of opinions here... Why don't we investigate the administration of triamcinolone to thick skin nasal tip using tattoo equipment (MMP or Microinfuso de Medicamentos na Pele technique)? Would reach dermis only, and microdosing would likely evenly thin this layer without irregular skin atrophy/dents. Has been successfully tried for alopecia areata. No harm to skin.
