I had surgery inside my right nostril on the cartilage to remove a sharp bone spur but it left me with a white bony bump. It's small but it feels big. I can constantly feel it 24/7 but it's not painful (just really annoying!) and it's starting to affect me a lot. Is it possible to shave the white bony bump down so that its completely flat? What is this procedure called and how would I explain it to a doctor? Any help would be appreciated. I'm in the UK. Thanks.
Ive attached my Scan so you guys can see what Im talking about. Also, will insurance companies usually approve septorhinoplasty? Or just the fix of septum and bone spur? I have Kaiser insurance. I suffer from migraines for 17 years almost daily and I know this has to contribute to them. I want only one surgery done so I want to make sure I can possibly do everything at one time.
I had a large septal spur removed. I had developed Sluder's Neuroglia because of the spur. i still have pain in the left side of my face, facial rednesss and pain over my sinuses. I also had a turbinate reduction. It seems to have affected my trigeminal nerve as well.
I underwent rhinoplasty a month and a half ago. My cast was removed 8 days post op and I noticed a small hard lump on the left side of my bridge where the hump had been removed. Since the swelling has subsided it has become extremely noticeable and perhaps larger. My side profile even no longer shows a smooth slope since the swelling went down. The lump feels as hard as bone. I am visiting my surgeon in a week. He claims it'll go away on its own. My nose also goes very crooked when I smile.
On the inside right side of my nose I feel a sharp like bony ball near the base and the wall of the right nose is also somewhat bony. The left side feels completely fine. Went to get other opinions and surgeons said septum is too much to the right and as a result you are actually feeling the septum and it needs to be corrected. My nose is straight though? Can someone please give some input?
I have bone spur on my nose from a break that happened about 10 years ago. The bone spur was never an issue in the beginning but it has grown and now causes alot of pain when I wear glasses which is every day. I don't want to change anything about my nose other than the bone spur so that I may be able to wear my glasses comfortably. It also causes that area to become red and sometimes break open in what looks to be a small pressure ulcer. I'd just like to not have that anymore it's painful.
I had an open rhinoplasty on September 19. I had a deviated septum fixed, a bone spur removed, and he was supposed to straighten and lower my bridge, remove the bump, and deproject and refine my tip. After getting the splint off today, 10 days later, I want to cry. I hate it. My tip looks as projected as before and is bulbous + huge and my bridge looks big too. The bump is gone but I feel like I look even worse than before. Is this just swelling??? Is it possible underneath this is a nice nose?
My hubs has seen an ENT in our area that has suggested he needs surgical intervention to properly open his passages. I'm wondering is a deviated septum isn't also a factor. He is now having ear issues due to maldrainage. I feel like maybe a plastic surgeon specialized in rhinoplasty may be a better surgical option.
Can this be operated on with out risk of death? Where could he go to have this done? And if it cannot surgically be removed is there any relief for him other than narcotics?
