I had an aggressive open rhinoplasty 4 years ago, I had nasal airway tubes inserted for 1 week. After they were removed the taste came back but not the smell, now I have 80% loss of smell. My nose sidewalls slowly collapsed during the 1st year and I had a revision with graft 1 year ago, but still no difference. What did go wrong in the first surgery as I have almost no smell? could it be caused by the airway tube insertion? Please explain to me what could have gone wrong in the first surgery.
I had a Septorhin. done a year ago. After which I developed scar tissues inside my nose that were blocking my airways. I went for revision Septo. and also asked to fix the visual aesthetics of my nose (there were visible bump and a bit drooping tip). The Revision was done 6 days ago. Today I started to notice a foul odor coming out of my nostrils. I tried calling my doctor's office, but he is on vacation and won't be back for another few weeks. Can you please suggest, what should I do?
I had (failed) revision rhinoplasty 6 months ago and had a smell almost straight away after. The smell is now so strong and gets worse if i move the nose eg wrinkling the nose or moving when washing my face. Recently its been super strong at night and even waking me up. Its a really really horrible, foul smell, particularly in one side. Had 2 courses of antibiotics and its still here. Im desperate for a solution.
I had a Septoplasty/Rhinoplasty and turbinate reduction in Nov of 2020. I still had a bad smell in my nose at my 6 month post op appointment, it was treated with an antibiotic but the odor persisted. My surgeon didnt think it was a big issue so I didnt let him know it never went away. One year post-op, I told them again that the odor never subsided. He said everything looked good and chalked it up to allergies. Treated with a steroid, but smell still persists now sadly. At a loss.
7 months ago i got a rhinoplasty/septoplasty. About a month after my surgery i noticed a bad smell but only in my left nostril. I figured it was due to me just having surgery. I am still having that strange smell. I have gone to my surgeon and they looked inside with a camera, and no infection. They also had me do a CT scan for sinitis, that came back clear also. I have no answers and the smell is terrible.
Hi, I underwent Rhinoplasty & Sepoplasty as one operation in August 2020 and there are a lot of issues that I am facing today since post surgery. Firstly since a week after the procedure I have not been able to smell anything and I thought it was covid related but it has been nearly two years now and has had affected my life so much I dont know why I havent been able to smell anything for this long Im really worried.
I had Rhinoplasty done a year ago. Nov 2020. I have had a strange smell in my nose on one side since surgery. The smell is foul but not like death. Its almost like wet dog smell? It doesnt leak bad but it is a small leak from time to time and it definitely smells everyday all day. I am hoping this isnt a CSF leak. What can I do? Ive seen two different plastic surgeons about a revision and I spaced asking them about the scent/leak. They have looked and felt my nose.
