Hi, i have rheumatoid arthritis, polymyositis and scleroderma, currently the medications i take are methotrexate (15mg a week) , mycophenolate (2000mg a day) ,prednisone (5mg a day), hydroxychloroquine (400mg a day), although i am going to my rheumatologist soon to discuss if i am suitable for rhinoplasty and chin lipo & if I'll be okay with general anaesthesia, i wanted to get other opinions too - would i be suitable for rhinoplasty & chin lipo? Which one is a more risky procedure?
Hi I had my rhinoplasty done 18 days ago I knew there would be swelling but my cheeks and top lip are still heavily swollen aswell as my forehead along with minor headaches every now and then. Ive been to my GP and hes put me on prednisolone for the last 3 days and nothing has changed! Is this normal? I can barely move my top lip and Im pretty scared. My skin has also heavily broken out into what seems to be the worst acne Ive had. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you
Hi! I'm really concerned because at 1 mo post op, my right nostril was stuffed and my surgeon prescribed me Clarityne for 1 mo. It improved (but not at all), after it I have b issues again. At 3 mo he prescribed me Prednisone for 10 days at high doses and Clarityne (helped while taking), the right turbinate was big. Right now I cannot breathe from both of my nostrils. Sometimes they open from their stuffiness and I can. What are other possibilities of my breathing issues? What can I do next?
I'm 7 weeks post op I caught some kind of a flu and I was congested I saw my gp he prescribed me with augmentine and prednisone and told me to use some nasal spray according to him I have inflammation in my nose. My question is could the inflammation be from the surgery and I shouldn't take what prescribed me? I'm just worried I don't want to stuff up my nose. My surgeon is so hard to get in contact with because he is overseas I hope you guys can give me a little help?
I developed a perforated septum after a severe bacterial sinus infection. After that, my nose sunk in and my face now has a flat effect. I have never done cocaine or any other drugs. I have been on prednisone for many years for rheumatoid arthritis. Are there any other causes for perforation and any causes for my nose to sink in? I'm assuming it's all related to the septorhinoplasty done in 1974 when I was 24 for broken nose and deviated septum. Will send photos if needed.
If it is possible to break without bleeding or swelling, would a trip to the Drs do anything, or will they just tell me to take Tylenol for the pain? Fell because I fainted which was due to taking prednisone (for a foot injury) twenty minutes before. 12mg of that mixed with a severe head cold equals major dizzy fainting spells. I was only out for perhaps a minute, but when I woke up I was face first on the floor and had wet myself, so I was OUT! And didn't brace the impact at all.
