I am going to get reconstructive surgery for saddle nose. I'm getting swelling, weird smells and discoloration outside of my nose. This is due to an awful mistake on my part. Should I inform my surgeon about the pulled stitch? I do not their for fear of my reconstructive surgery won't be covered if i do so. Thanks in advance
I have Raynold's Syndrome (bad circulation to my hands, feet, and nose), and I've heard that an open rhinoplasty approach will cut through an artery in the nose tip, which can potentially lead to necrosis for someone with bad circulation to the nose, like myself. Any information about this risk would be very helpful, thank you!
My rhino is a disaster. My nose had 3 Kenalog injections, in months that followed the surgery. Since then, my nose has lost any refinement & is so swollen! I do Not wear glasses and have never bumped it or hit it. Why would I have a dark line across the middle? Bone issues? Necrosis? Nothing makes it go away. Besides the aesthetic failure, is there something else that is going on?
Hello, I am planning on getting my first ever rhinoplasty. It will be an open approach and will include dorsal augmentation and additional tip cartilage. Am I at risk for necrosis? Do cartilage grafts increase the risk? Or is it just injections and fat? Also, do splints cause pressure necrosis? Thanks
Could I get a bridge implant (DCF) & nothing done to the tip? Or would that be disproportionate? The only really problem I have with my nose is that the bridge is too flat. I like to solve this problem with filler but Im getting scared of blindness/necrosis lately. Is there any minimally invasive surgery technique that just focuses on raising the bridge slightly? What are your opinions on nose threads? Thank you
I recently had my consultation and was told rhinoplasty was too risky due to the scar tissue in the tip of my nose causing not enough bloodflow post op and leading to necrosis. Will all surgeons feel this way? It was very disappointing news considering I have a large dorsal hump and a crooked nose, all of which I'd like fixed.
I am very scared. 2 weeks after rhinoplasty. My left nostril looks like its flesh is eaten up a little bit and there is this fleshy yellow/green mucus inside what looks like a wound. I only noticed this after stitch removal two days ago. Before there was a lot of dried blood in there. Right nostril is just fine. No mucus, no blood. What's wrong with the left one? Could it be necrosis or just infected? Could it be nothing at all? It's not painful. Please suggest something, I'm super scared rn.
I am 10 days post op after Open Rhinoplasty. My stitches we're removed but I have scabs left, when my doctor tries to remove it said that it was necrotic and now i'm scared i might lost my columella and there will be a gap. There was a ear cartillage strut placed on my columella. My doctor told me not to do anything about it and it's still under observation and i was put on antibiotics(co amoxiclav 625mg), Vitamin c (sodium ascorbate) and ointment (mupirocin).
