I had rhinoplasty in Korea 7 years ago to raise my bridge using silicone and nose tip projection using cadaver rib cartilage + own ear cartilage graft. I've been noticing a significant reduction in the projection of my nose tip around 4 years post op. While I miss my old profile view, I'm still overall happy with the results. My nose has been healthy throughout without complications, I'm wondering if my tip has been stabilized, I would be concerned if my tip contracts further.
Hello, I am a Chinese person and I would like to use my bilateral ear cartilage as a nasal bridge instead of other implants. I do not want any implants in my nose. I would like to ask if you have done this type of surgery frequently before? I see that in your cases, most of them make the high nose bridge lower rather than the low nose bridge higher, so I am a bit worried... If you can answer, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hello, I love my nose. I don't want a super long nose, just that I feel like it droops a little on my side profile or needs a little projection. Would I need a full on rhinoplasty or can it be done with just by modifying the tip via ear cartilage?
I had a rhinoplasty and Septoplasty in November of 2020, about a year ago I started noticed an Indention on the left top of my nose near the tip. I have also noticed the tip seems to rotate to the right now. What would cause this? Is this poor healing? Or the technique of the surgeon? I was told he would use a graft and it was harvested from cartridge taken from behind my own ear.
Hello, I was told by a surgeon that I could fix my crooked septum (when a shadow falls, one side of my nose looks like it has a chunk missing, aka pinched on one side) either by full correction of the septum or by cartilage grafting from my ear. I breath ok, so I chose the cartilage grafting. But I now read that ear cartilage is too soft to use on the septum and is better for shaping the tip. Could someone please comment on this? Can a crooked septum be fixed successfully this way?
I had a revision rhinoplasty that required some ear cartilage be removed and used as a graft in the procedure. I am afraid my doctor took too much cartilage as my ears are visibly asymmetrical (the one that had cartilage removed lays very close to my head, while the other ear sticks out 1). It also feels like there is a big chunk missing that goes right up to where my ear meets my head and I am getting migraines that feel like they are pulsing from that ear. Is this normal? Will it get better?
I am considering diced cartilage fascia rhinoplasty (using rib and ear cartilage). I know there is a risk of warping, but can this method last a lifetime? I found a review of a patient who experienced small cartilage popping out of the nose tip after diced cartilage fascia rhinoplasty. Is this incident common?
What is the resorption rate of ear cartilage when used for radix/upper bridge augmentation over time? I'm talking about 20-30 years in the future. Will the graft last a lifetime? Have there been studies on this?
Hi Doctors, One month ago, I got a open rhinoplasty with alarplasty. However, no bones were broken. My nose bridge was enhanced with silicone implant and my tip was enhanced with my ear cartilage. I also had my alar reduced. Right now, there is not much swelling left and all incisions are healing well. I am now 4 weeks post-operation and was thinking if it is okay to smoke? Will smoking affect my final result? I know smoking is bad but I deal with anxiety and it calms me down.
