Hello, I am 16months post op and I am suffering from chronic congestion since my rhinoplasty, swell and pain. I am not in terrible pain all the time but when my nose is swollen it triggers the pain. Sometimes my nose is not swollen and even looks good. The cartilage grafts used are very uncomfortable to me and seem to be the reason why I am going through this, my question is : Is it common for grafts to become very stiff and painful in the cold ? To be outside for me in the winter is awful.
Is this just because it continues to heal? If someone is doing the procedure to get a smaller nose, roughly how long after the surgery will they begin to see the size reduce? If I live in cold weather, will this impact time taken for swelling to go down?
I'm considering a rhinoseptoplasty to straighten my nose, remove the small dorsal hump and slightly narrow the bulbous tip. However, my nose tip is often cold as I have poor circulation (including cold hands, feet, nose tip) can this lead to complications?
After 12 weeks of surgery, I had a cold and as I blew my nose I felt sth came down in my nose. I contacted my surgeon who was out of country and he said it is the silicone sheet hsd left left there to help form my nose and it must remain in the nose for six to twelve months. And that now it has come down I must remove it. I took it out and it was 3 cm long. Question how long does a silicone sheet need to remain in the nose? Did he simply forget it?
Tuesday I got a cold, a week prior to my scheduled rhino. I have a stuffy nose and slightly sore throat. I went to my general physician, who said my breathing was normal. I'm taking paracetamol and an antihistaminic. My surgery is in two days and I'm not 100% yet. I still have a slightly stuffy nose and a cough. I did not have a fever, nor do I feel ill, with aches nor pains, and my physician still says my breathing is clear and normal. I'm scared to call my surgeon for he might say to postpone...
I had a rhinoplasty 4 weeks ago and came down with a pretty bad cold/flu as of last night. My nose is quite blocked up and tender, and Im wondering if being sick will increase chances of infection, or if that should be a concern at 4 weeks post-op? Was going to call my surgeon tomorrow to check in, but thought Id try here first to get some opinions. Thanks!
I am worried I am compromising my safety by having surgery tomorrow with some mild cold symptoms. -I have a slight temperature 99.6-100 it varies. -My nose is a little raw. -My throat is not sore, but it is slightly raspy. -I am loosing a $500 deposit:( Could somebody help me out?
My nose cracked when I was punched in my nose accidentally. My nose is bent in my left side, I don't know what it's called. I tried to cold compress it after I was punched in my nose accidentally. I tried massaging to correct it's shape while I'm doing cold compress. I heard a few cracks after I applied a bit of force pressing the both sides of my nose. There's still a part of my nose that is still unfixed cause' it hurts when I massage the left part of my nose. How do I fix this without a surgery?
I had rhinoplasty 2 months ago and Im noticing just today that upon examining the inside of my nostrils, my septum moves to the right when I breathe out. Should I be concerned about a revision? Could this be a result of having been sick with colds twice during my recovery?
