Hello, I got a rhinoplasty in Dec 2020 which resulted in a bony calleous. My Dr told me multiple times when I brought it up as a concern that it would go away and did not give many details other than that. 4 years later it is still here! he offered a revision to remove the callous, however, it is not feasible for me right now. I am wondering if a provider would know if taping the callous at night time would help? Or would this make it worse?
I do have a kind of deformity on my nose that can probably be reduced by sanding or rasping the nasal bone. It looks like a very slight hump on the bridge of the nose which causes a small bump from the side and bigger bump on one 3/4 profile (such profile from the other side doesn't have it)? So there is my question. Does sanding the nasal bone have lower or the same probability of forming callus In comparison to breaking bone? And how long does convalescence last after such procedure?
Hello, I was wondering if there is any difference in the results of a rhinoplasty when using ultrasonic tools vs traditional tools. Also, is there less chances of developing a bony callus with ultrasonic rhinoplasty ? Thank you
Hello, I have been asking myself this question for the longest time. I saw that some people who get a rhinoplasty can develop a callus post op. This callus can be rasped down with a local anesthesia procedure. Normally when taking down a bump on the nose, osteotomies are done to close the open roof deformity, but why arent osteotomies required when rasping down a callus post op? Thank you for your answers.
I got a closed rhinoplasty in 2019 to remove a dorsal hump. A callus formed over where the bump previously was, and after unsuccessful treatment with steroid injections and massages I decided to go back to my surgeon for a nasal rasping touch up in 2020. its been 2 years since then and now the original, and a new callus have formed on the bridge and near my forehead. will another rasping procedure make this worse? do i need a full revision?
Primary rhinoplasty done April '21. Very pleased except for a minor callus that has formed on the bridge, due to osteotomy, and is not resolving with massage. Surgeon expects minor rasping will be needed after the 12 month mark. Does this typically cost extra when performed in-office, with the same surgeon? Thank you!
About 8 months ago I hit my nose and eventually I realised that I had developed a hard callus on the side of my nasal bridge. It still hasnt gone away and feels rock hard. I want to get rasping surgery done, but Im worried another callus will form. Considering my callus is actually quite small ... how likely am I to get another callus..? I was also wondering if steroid injections were an option for me, and if I should wait a full 12 months in case it goes away by itself. Thank you
had Rhinoplasty 2 weeks. I naturally had a Dorsal Hump with a droopy tip. I STILL have Thr Dorsal Hump aftet surgery.I am Only swollen on the tip which I don't Mind. Yhe bridge Hump Is noticible, It's NOT Swelling, The skin is thin & I feel no difference. I wonder Could it be callus? Or is it just time... Do bones swell up too ? I've researched Rasping, Filing down the hump....I have a Appt with my doc May 27, Is rasping expensive? i know its early for worries but my Humpty Hump is still there
