I had an external ptosis repair and bleph done on my right eye a month ago and I am super anxious about the peaking lid. My oculoplastic surgeon said it was intentional and due to self dissolving sutures inside, that will gradually dissolve the next 2-3 months. I am still swelled but my main concern is the peak. I cant find any information online that supports this. Will it even be possible to lower/correct this if the peak persists?
I had 2 ptosis correction surgery. The last one was done 7-8months ago. However, the eyelids looked high, deep set and unnatural, making me look more older. There are also some asymmetry in the eyelids height. One of them is much thicker. Is this an issue that can be resolved by adjusting the eye opening higher/ wider? Is it possible to do a crease height revision to lower The eyelids and have a softer look as eyelids are looking very harsh. Is there anything else I can do?
I had congenital ptosis surgery in 2020 by an oculoplastic asorps surgeon in Houston. I had revisional surgery a year later. It has now been 1 year since the revision and my eyelid has multiple creases, bunched skin, and folds I never had before. My surgeon has said she can try and use a laser to tighten my skin. No skin removal so far. What would you do? I'm scared to trust my surgeon again but hate the swollen appearance of my eyelid. I can live with the height improvement I've achieved.
Upper Bleph 2015 -several incisional dehiscence post op x3 Now with very asymmetrical eyes with heavy Ptosis of left eye and ? Outer right eye fat pad? I realize Ptosis repair will help left eye but could right eye be revised a bit? I also know asymmetry is realistic with your face.
I had eye surgery for ptosis on both eyes back in February this year. My doctor suggested fixing both eyes, although I was mainly worried about my left eye. After the surgery, I'm not happy with how my eyelids look. My left eye looks really hooded and the epicanthic fold is gone, and my right eye covers a bit of my pupil making it look angled. I just want to make my eyes look more natural and symmetrical, but I don't know where to get help (many doctors don't do revision eyelid surgery).
I had Ptosis surgery over 3 years ago. My eye shape is ruined half of my face looks different looks like Im squinting always and have multiple eyelid creases can my eyelid be repaired is there surgery to correct the shape of my eye? I want my almond shape back with out causing my eyes to shrink. What are my options? Note - my eyelid flaps over my eyelashes (inner corner)
2 years ago I had ptosis surgery performed on both eyelids. I had a prior surgeon inform me that my eyelids were symmetrical yet my left eyelid felt droopy at times. Now I notice my eyelids are flatter and eyes feel smaller than before which is an insecurity of mine. My eyes are also dry each morning even after using warm compress and eye drops/gel. So Im not sure if its due to overcorrection or not because I can still close my eyelids. Can this be reversed back to its original form?
I am wanting to go ahead with a third surgery as I'm desperate to fix this ptosis. However, my surgeon is warning me that a third surgery may not be advised. He says the tissues are much harder to perform surgery on safely and the chances of it being a success are reduced rapidly. I wasn't aware that this surgery couldn't be repeated a number of times, I'm now extremely worried there's a chance I'll never be able to get this fixed, is there any hope? (Healthy 24yr, male)
Hi, This is my second ptosis surgery I've had in 6 months. My surgeon has tried two different ways now, first time was with dissolvable stitches as ptosis is mild. Was certain this next one would be much better, however I'm currently in my 7th week and it still looks no better. Looked better first couple of weeks, since having the stitches out it seems to have just returned to where it's always been. First image is before surgery vs 7 weeks later
My daughter had ptosis surgery at 5. Now 9 and her eyes are definitely far from symmetrical. It bothers her quite a bit and she is teased. Do I need to seek a pediatric plastic surgeon, pediatric ophthalmologist or just a general plastic surgeon? The first surgery was done by a oculoplastic surgeon who performed some pediatric surgeries. He definitely did not take enough and Im really hoping this will be a safe and effective surgery for my daughter.
