Had posterior double eyelid/bilateral ptosis surgery. Original eyes were symmetrically sleepy. Post op, left eye opens wider and causes muscle strain/migraines. Right eye is heavy/droops, cant open fully from muscle tension. Asymmetry present post op but more obvious as swelling subsided. Left lash line peaks at certain angles. Doc suggests lowering left eye sutures in 6 months but thinks issue will resolve itself. Is this Herings Law or will my right eye open more while the left settles down?
I had an external ptosis repair and bleph done on my right eye a month ago and I am super anxious about the peaking lid. My oculoplastic surgeon said it was intentional and due to self dissolving sutures inside, that will gradually dissolve the next 2-3 months. I am still swelled but my main concern is the peak. I cant find any information online that supports this. Will it even be possible to lower/correct this if the peak persists?
2 years ago I had ptosis surgery performed on both eyelids. I had a prior surgeon inform me that my eyelids were symmetrical yet my left eyelid felt droopy at times. Now I notice my eyelids are flatter and eyes feel smaller than before which is an insecurity of mine. My eyes are also dry each morning even after using warm compress and eye drops/gel. So Im not sure if its due to overcorrection or not because I can still close my eyelids. Can this be reversed back to its original form?
Im about to be 9 months post op in 19 days & Im extremely unhappy with my results. As u can see in my before pic, my left eye *the eye that got operated on* was smaller than my right eye. But now, my left eye is the bigger eye AND my crease doesnt look right at all. I cant do my eyeliner the same anymore its so depressing. I feel like my surgeon over corrected my left eye. He said I have whats called hering related right upper eyelid ptosis but idk.. I cry daily about this
20 months ago I had surgery on my left eye to raise it as it was dropping slightly. The surgeon over corrected it but when i raised this at the time he said thats just the price you pay for getting this surgery done. However it is clearly overcorrected - its too high and my eye lid is gone. Can I get it lowered? Or should I get a bleph to remove the skin?
On 8/21/19, I got my double eye lid and ptosis surgery done. My pupil exposure prior to surgery was symmetrical. My right eye was slightly over-corrected, and my left, severely under-corrected. On 8/28/19, I underwent a revision of my left eye. Immediately after the surgery, my left eye looked more normal. But the following day, the left eye went droopy again. My eye right almost looks normal, but I can constantly feel the muscle tension. I get a headache from it. Do I need surgery again now?
I had ptosis surgery 2 months ago. My eyelid was overcorrected, so 2 weeks ago my surgeon performed the surgery again to bring it down but its still too high. Can this just be reversed as it was before surgeries? What is the best kind of doctor to fix others mistakes?
I had ptosis surgery a little over 3 wks ago. A few hrs after surgery I fell and bumped by eye pretty hard (requiring stitching under my right eye as a result). Over the next weeks my right eye start to pull up higher than the left eye. My eyelid peaked at the position where a bruise developed from the fall. During the follow ups my physician said it's due to the bruising and then he said it's due to adhesion which should loosen over the next 3 mos. My right eye is rounding out and not as sharp.
After ptosis surgery one eyelid is still swollen so I am waiting for it to raise more. However the other eye seems overcorrected. In the AM you can see the white of my eye on the top. Then it relaxes throughout the day and looks more normal. My dr says it looks fine but he didn't see me in the AM. He says to wait 2 more weeks before we discuss massage, so that the other eye raise up more. At that point I will be about 4 weeks post op. Is that too late for massage to have any real benefits?
