Hello! I am researching to have a face and neck lift procedure. I want to know how a surgeon would address the fullness under the jawline, especially how they do salivary gland suspension. I am a bit scared of resection/removal, especially as a type 1 diabetic. Thanks for your advice!
Hello! after my neck lift I have thick ropey scars (where draining tubes were, I think) I have some thick skin that is visible and feels like a rope and matches up to where the draining tube was. It has been 3 months exactly, and when I saw my plastic surgeon -- who I really like a lot, by the way), he indicated this was just salivary glands that are noticeable now. But these salivary glands seem to run underneath my chin and are a constant band. He injected some cortisone, but I am concerned. Can someone please let me know if this is correctable? Thank you!!
I think I found a cosmetic surgeon as he was recommended by my dermatologist. Ive also been to a few consults and liked him the most. He suggested I do a lower face lift + neck lift and he is highly rated in my city. However, he is advocating the shaving or removal of saliva glands during the procedure to provide a good line. I am thin & have some neck sagging that is progressively getting worse but I do not have bad jowls. What are other surgeons views on the removal of saliva glands?
One side is soft and lumpy with drooping salivary gland and other is hard and lumpy with tight platysmal cords. Dr says give it another 3 months and then we will discuss options. Wondering if this is best or something more to do to get a good result?
36 yrs old. Within the last 8-12 mos. saliva glands under my jaw descended & the skin lost elasticity. Been checked by doctors & had mri, there is no medical reason for it, & I'm told my glands are normal sized. I take care of my skin. I had radio frequency treatments in that area in Feb. I've been on Lyrica & pain meds since Jan. Any ideas as to why it happened? What are my options for fixing it? Neck lift with basket suspension or resection? The full face pic is me (on the left) one year ago.
I Had a Neck Lift 9 Weeks Ago and I Have Fluid Collecting Under my Neck. 7 days out I had fluid collecting on the right side of my neck. 2 weeks later I had surgery to correct overactive salivary gland. 3 weeks ago I had hepatitis from the antibiotics I was on for 6 weeks. Now, 9 weeks out, I have fluid collecting under my chin and down the front of my neck. This fluid is drawn out by syringe and is clear. I think my surgeon is baffled by complications this far out. I'm not sure he knows what to do next. What should I do and is this normal?
