12 months ago I had a mole removed from my jawline. After the stitches were removed I was upset at the dog ears that had formed either side of the scar. I was told to give it time to heal and massage daily. Its now been a year, I massage daily and use a silicone gel. And whilst the scar has improved, I still have the dog ears. Can someone please explain what causes them and if they will improve anymore? Also, why would a surgeon cut vertically along a jawline and not horizontal?
I had several moles removed from my face via punch biopsy method with stitches placed. Stitches taken out after five days. I've continued to massage, use silicone scar sheets, vitamin e...etc. It's going on two months since I had procedure & I'm very unhappy with results. I let my plastic Md. know this three weeks after procedure, but he said to Continue to give it time. At this point, should I continue to wait. I hear mix reviews about waiting vs. not? Recommendations ? Thanks
It's been 13 days since my mole excision. Some sutures were removed on day 7 and others were removed on day 9. Since the sutures were removed, I've noticed some railroad track marks on the stitches. Will these suture marks disappear? Also, how long does it take for the incision line to disappear/flatten out? Right now there is a noticeable line from where the incision was. Is there any benefit in massaging the area?
I underwent a mole removal by surgical excision a month and a half ago. Last week I noticed the appearance of a small cyst/ pimple like structure at the beginning of my incision. It started as a small reddish swelling after I tried to massage the scar and now it appears white. It feels slightly sore with no specific pain. In the past I observed some sutures coming out of my skin at another point of my incision which I cut out with after sterilizing a pair of small scissors.
I had a shave biopsy done 5 weeks ago on my cheek. The spot is still indented. 1) how long will it continue to fill in? 2) any harm from massaging? I hear massaging breaks down scar tissue, so is that bad since I want it to continue to create scar tissue to fill in? 3) the spot & also lower eyelid is still swollen. Is it normal this long? 4) when I smile my tear trough is more noticeable b/c I think the inflexiblity of the scar tissue is concentrating the crease. What to do to minimize this?
its been abt 6 months since 1st serial excision of pigmented mole.Is it advisable to undergo the second serial excision now looking at the raised hypertrophic scar now or wait longer for it heals? What other advices to minimise the scarring after second op as its considered very wide? instead of linear scar, is it possible to make it less obvious on my side cheek?irregular geometric surgery?what do people mean by massaging?hard or gentle = both create tension? thanks in advance!
