Hello surgeons, With the WAL technique, is more fluid (vs fat) removed compared to PAL? Ive noticed that people receiving WAL in other countries seem to need more liters removed to get out the same amount of fat (or get the same results) as someone getting PAL. Im not sure if more fluid is injected in WAL therefore theyre removing more liters of fluid than PAL? Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks!
I have had some fluid build up in my arms after Liposuction on my upper arms 3 weeks ago. I had to have several drainages, and was wondering, how long does it take for the fluid to subside? Is fluid build-up normal for some people?
I have an appt scheduled in late Jan to get liposuction on my abs and flanks done, then soon after I'll be going back for my inner and outer thighs...I am past being worried about the pain (thanks to all of these informational posts) I am now concerned with the drainage. Can someone tell me what to expect? Is there a lot of fluid? How often do you have to change the dressing?
Let me preface by saying I KNOW we aren't supposed to step on a scale after Lipo (and yes I know Lipo isn't a weight loss tool) but I'm not the first or last that decided to step on a scale the next day and now I'm baffled.... so thought maybe someone could chime in! I had lipo on flanks and inner/outer thighs and we removed seven pounds of fat. I was surprised to see that I weighed ELEVEN POUNDS MORE the next day! I know we retain fluid and there's tons of swelling but WTH!
I am going in for liposuction on flanks & thighs for fatgrafting to breasts next month. The hospital said I will start wearing the compression garment the day after surgery. The reason being: Tumescent fluid has to leak out after surgery, so it should be applied the day after. I am a little confused and wondering how others doctors recommend their patients to wear their compression garments post op from liposuction. Is it normal to start wearing it more than 24h after surgery?
I had liposuction on my inner thigh 7 months ago and developed a seroma which was hard as a gulf ball. My surgeon drained it multiple times and injected it one time with steroids but it stills keep filling and its been almost a month that the sac was removed. The incision is pretty much healed but it stills keep filling up and has about 20mls or more of serous fluid. Is this normal to have the sac removed but the area to still filling up with fluid?
Hello, How do you know when your swelling is gone or getting better? Not in days or months... But Physically how can you tell that the area is full of fluid not fat? I have EXACTLY the same love handles/saddle bags before and after lipo. Can that really be possible after 2 1/2 weeks? I thought I would be able to see SOME change any change at all. I am 5'5 108#
I had liposuction in South Korea 10 months ago, and the day after the procedure I returned to the surgeon to have my surgery area (abdomen, flanks and back) squeezed. They didnt give me drains after the surgery and instead pushed/massaged the fluid out of the wounds the next day. since then I had a strange shape to my abdomen where they had pushed the fluid down and it didnt all get squeezed out. I was so hoping for a flat stomach, I am so disheartened.
I am going to have abdominal liposuction and was wondering what the best way is to get excess fluid out of the body after the procedure? Is it just drink a ton of water and wear the compression garmet? I am worried about swelling in my face and other body parts when I don't want anyone to know what I have been doing. :)
I had lipo done on Jan 18 by a great surgeon in Mexico, but I live in Michigan and cant get lost op care :( . I did lymphatic & ultrasound massages or 3wks.I had a pretty big fluid pocket on my lower back and it went away, But now I am left with dimpling. I also have a bulge on my stomach where I was told it could be my faja line or left over fat. On my waist I have more of a curve on one side and the other side seems very hard and almost unable to have that curve.
