Lower back pain and have two lipomas in the area. Wonder if they could be pressing on a nerve. Previously had one very deep in elbow joint, not visible from outside. Doc said no problem but I insisted on removal and pain went away. So the ones in my back make me suspicious.
I have a lipoma about 8mm in size inside the right buttock pressing on the nerve giving me sciatica pinched nerve pain symptoms in the buttock, hip, groin and down leg. I am waiting to schedule surgery for removal. What should i expect for recovery time and I sit a lot at work?
I have a rather large lipoma at the base of my neck. I had it examined by a specialist to confirm it to be a lipoma. It is approximately 2 and has affected the nerves in my arms, it has recently caused constant discomfort in my neck. I do not have insurance and I am concerned about nerve damage that could result from being removed. My question is that can a lipoma be removed thru liposuction with the least evasive damage to the nerves. Thank you for any reassurance you can offer.
I have a lipoma on my Lt hip, near the iliac creast, I have had it around 3 yrs, it has increase in size, it approx 5 cm x 3 cm. It has started giving me a huge amount of pain in the hip /buttocks and surrounding areas. It sometimes causes me to not be able to put weight on my Lt leg for several minutes. So I think the nerves must be involved?
I've had a golf size lipoma located on my upper back just below my neck for at least 15 years. It has never given me any problems and doctors have said, there is no reason to remove it. But last week it started swelling, red & infection (I consistently run a low grade fever 99-101). I for sure want it removed now but I doubt surgery is possible without eliminating the infection & swelling. What would be my next step? Visit general MD to clear infection with referral to dermatologist for removal?
Ive had a lump just under the base of my skull for 4 yrs since Ive had it Ive been getting severe headaches some so bad my vision goes black. The amount of tylenol Ive taken over the years is definitely not healthy. First I was told its a lymph node now being told its a lipoma I know a removal is cosmetic so it usually won't be covered but this is really affecting my life, might be growing into a nerve is there any chance at all at OHIP coverage? Im on ODSP and cant afford the $600 I was quoted.
I have a lipoma the ER told me that it is pushing a nerve near c6c7 cervical vert..i have no insurance and can't use my right arm and hand what do i do to get it removed on some kind of payment plan
After having a CT and MRI done a neuro surgeon who also works in plastics assured me that my lipoma was not rooted or connected to anything and said it would be a easy removal and that the scarring would be minimal. I had this removed roughly a week ago.. I have lost the ability to raise my left eyebrow. I've questioned the surgeon about this issue and he told me that I had a nerve that was went into the lipoma that he had to cut. Is my function to move my left eyebrow gone?!
