For reasons that I won't go into due to lack of space here, I would prefer to have a lip lift done using the vermilion border advancement technique rather than the subnasal or under-the-nose bullhorn method of lip lift. I know that the scar can be hidden better with the bullhorn method and that is why it is used more, but is the vermilion border method ever still used? Or is the scar around the mouth just always so horrible that I will not find any doctor who uses it anymore? Thank you!
I have an atrophic surgical scar along my alar wing border down to my nostril as a result of a lip lift. What are the best ways to treat this kind of scar. So far I've been told dermabrasion, CO2 laser (already had fraxel and CO2 laser with little improvement), electrodessication (for scar webbing'). It looks like the scar margins spread and the scar is indented.
I had a lip lift 2 months ago and I am not satisfied with the results because it looks absolutely the same as if I didn't have anything done. The only difference is that I have a small white scar on the right side of my nostril. I am having a lip lift revision and I would like to know what I can place over the scar afterwards to help the appearance? And also, when should I start applying it- right after surgery? Or a few weeks post? Thank you!!
Is there anything that can be done to fix this? I had a lip lift just over 2 years ago. The scarring is deep and has got stitch marks all the way round. Im very self conscious about it and its noticeable even whilst wearing makeup. Since having the procedure done I cant close my mouth properly and feel like I have too much tooth show when my mouth is at rest. Are there any procedures that can help me? Thank you
If a plastic surgeon has used a combination of internal, dissolvable sutures plus surgical glue for a facial plastic procedure, will picking at and removing the surgical glue prematurely (i.e. 4 days after a lip lift surgery) guarantee a result that shows more visible scaring than if this had not been done? Should the patient try to find ASAP surgical glue and put it back on the incision? If so, what brand/type and where is the best place to find it? Amazon.com? CVS?
I had a gulf wing lip lift about 4 weeks ago and it looks terrible. There is a big scar on my top lip and lots of scar tissue. I'm very upset because I told the doctor not to do that kind of lift because of all the bad things I've heard about it. Now I need something done because it looks terrible. I'm very depressed about it.
I have a hypertrophic scar when after the first surgery the scar was thick but not raised. I had my first lip lift done in Sep 2021 and my last lip lift done Oct 2002. The first scar healed white and my scar now is still red. Ive recently had two rounds of PDL laser done and have not noticed any improvement. I have 2 keloids on my left ear from piercings gone wrong so I'm not sure if my body responds to these wounds by overproducing something in mybody? I have other scars that healed well
I am now 6 month post combined rhinoplasty (with columella strut) and bullhorn lip lift. Primary surgery for both. Cosmetically I am happy with results. However the ongoing pain in lip scar is getting me down. To me tension seems to be the problem, with downward tension still coming from lateral aspects of my upper lip and upward tension from incision centrally. If I tape my lip to relieve tension this improves the pain greatly, but not practical. What can be done for pain?
