45 yr-old had Lasik monovision 1.5 year ago. Left eye was left -1.25 on purpose. Dominant right eye was undercorrected by -0.50 and -0.25 astigmatism. Distance vision is a bit weak. However I also noticed closeup vision reduction when trying contact to fully correct right eye. My dr can do PRK enhancement on right eye (not lasik). I'd like a second opinion: 1. Is it worthwhile to get PRK to fully correct my right eye? 2. Would it be possible to get PRK only correct half prescription of right eye eg. 0.3?
I'm 45 years old. I started wearing soft contacts at age 12 always with chronic dry eyes, had first lasik surgery at 27 and again at age 30. Everything is now fuzzy but really blurry after dusk. My eyes are still extremely dry and sometimes itchy and I'm always squinting and have to drive with the map light on in my vehicle after dark to help me focus a little. Can I comfortably wear soft contacts again or can the surgery be re-enhanced again with a third surgery?
Hello, I had my initial Lasik surgery 5 yrs ago. I recently had a Lasik Enhancement done in June, 2014. My surgeon didn't explain to me that he would be cutting my cornea until I was on the table! I have been dealing with blurred vision, headaches, light sensitivity, developed astigmatism, and also my Left eye is more nearsighted now. I am just miserable. They also tell me that I have cataracts, but since I am only 51 will not correct them yet. It is so hard to function!
The past few years I have had to wear reading glasses to read. If I read longer than an hour, my eyes never adjust and everything far away is somewhat fuzzy the rest of the day. Can. I have my eyes touched up again to correct this?
Female-52-bx: LASIK '2011, PRK 6/14, Left cataract not yet ready for surgery. Increased myopia, blurred vision. Evaluated for vertigo-negative. Eye surgeon insists its not my eyes, but need another opinion. Very disabling- Gave me Timoptic 0.5 Eye drops and greatly reduced headache first time I used them but very irritating to eyes, also have dry eye but on Restasis. Also have astigmatism since PRK. 3 prescription changes in 6 months. Cannot discuss with Dr as he becomes irate and degrading.
I am 48 and considering wave-front lasik surgery to correct my farsightedness.I currently wear progressive glasses at +4.25. I have a lot of cornea tissue (620 micrometer) and my pupils are below 6mm. I am reading many sites that do not recommend lasik for my level of farsightedness. Is Lasik successful for someone in my situation? Can regression take me back to a high prescription? Thanks
1'm 46, menopausal, have had 30 yrs of contacts, have thick corneas (-7,-8) While I'm scheduled for surgery soon, I'm afraid. Will I have dry eyes forever? Can nutrition help with this condition? Will it get worse as I age? (ie When I'm 75 will I need drops every 1/2 hour???)
