This is my first flare. I'm recovering from severe HS flare in my armpit that happened while travelling - I'd had small bumps in both armpits on and off for the past year but this was much worse and very painful so I went to the hospital and a dermatologist diagnosed HS. They injected cortisone which helped calm things and gave me doxycycline to take until it completely clears up. It's been 3 weeks, it's better but not 100% gone. I'd like to try laser hair removal ASAP if it's safe to do so.
I been going for a couple sessions now for my chin but theres one side that was being stubborn so my doctor said she would put it stronger. She told me to put cortizone 10 and spf everyday and that so may have dark spots but I have not yet though so thats good. However I was wondering if its safe to shave the area and also wear makeup? I added some pics. The dark area you see is just the hairs
5 days ago I had laser hair removal on my neck and chin. After the procedure I was very red and had small red bumps (follicular edema). The redness subsided in about 24 hours, but the red bumps have stayed and some have even grown larger and become whiteheads. In the last 3 days I have applied some OTC cortisone ointment but it has not made any noticeable difference. Is this normal this long after a procedure?
I was burned during laser hair removal. The following day a dermatologist gave me a cortisone shot and topical cream ( mometasone) which I used for 7 days. My scabbing came off and I now have Hypopigmentation. Will this white spots be permanent? Will they improve ? Ive been told to stay away from the sun, but I have also heard that gradual sun exposure (1-2 min) very 2-3 days may help improve the appearance as the white patches may tan.
Laser specialist said it looked like erythema edema. I have been using aloe and cortisone 10 on my legs since day 1. Is there anything I can do to help speed this recovery of these spots?
I had my 1st laser hair removal session on my armpits, Brazilian and full legs. My legs have red bumps & very itchy. I've applied ice packs to cool it, alovera, & cortizone cream but nothing works. The only part that was infected were my legs. My dermatologist didn't know what it was, which was weird cuz even I knew that it might be (folliculitis edema). What can I do to prevent this next time? Should I stop the treatment? The itchiness is so NOT worth the suffer. I NEED UR ADVICE DOCTORS
Just a few weeks ago I was getting laser hair removal for the first time on my face and neck area. My face is fine but my neck has developed very red blotches, should I stop the procedure or is this normal? Very concerned, I have been putting Cortizone on it to hopefully make it go away. It has been like this for the last couple of days. What do I do?
